I like to start a post on Christianity:
I was raised Christian and God is very real to me. I believe the Bible to be God's Word but lately I have been questioning somethings concerning church doctrine. I feel that even in Christianity there are some flaws.
All I want is God to share the truth with me what is truth and what is false doctrine.
For example I always heard that ghosts are demons but I have been really questioning this because I have been watched A haunting." And some of the stories sound like the ghosts are just lost and confessed where in other cases some of the spirits are evil.
Jesus acknowledge that ghosts are real when he said that a ghost does not have flesh and blood as you see me. He never call them demons even though he did cast out demons.
I just want to know the truth about things and not just a doctrine about it because I think that sometimes doctrines can be false teachings.

I am not a Christian, so I cannot really comment on the deeper meanings of it. However, from what I have studied, I tend to believe the Gospel of Thomas rather than the popular version that the Church uses.

Thanks so much for replying to my email. I have had some answer prayers and miracles in my life. But I am a very curious person and I like to seek out answers about the unknown such as big foot, ghost, ufos, life on other planets ect. I feel that God knows the answers to these questions but wonder why he doesn't always give us all the answers.

I will be creating a forum for Christianity momentarily Hadassah. (I remembered the Gnostic path & completely forgot about the general Christian path. LOL!) As for your questions....I, like Brandybuck, connect more with the Gospel of Thomas rather than the gospels that are generally accepted by the Church. That being the case...... He gives us the ability to discovery the truth regarding these things for ourselves based on our own readiness to understand them. One simply needs to search & find the mode of understanding that works for them.

Thanks so much Laurasia for answering my post. I always felt warm energy from you at the realm and still do. I want to keep an open mind that not all church doctrine is correct and I just want to seek the truth about things.

I just want to make sure it is clear that I have nothing against a person for being Christian. However, I have come to a different conclusion from reading the bible, and putting pieces together. Now I won't go over everything. What I will do is paste this site. ffrf.org/quiz/banswers.phpWho ever wishes can look over it. Just make sure you have a bible with you so you can know for yourself that these are all versus of the bible itself. These are not cases of people denying the book, mainly showing others parts they don't go over in church, or catholic schools. Also, I don't have it right now, but I'll paste it when I find it again. In a few books in the old testament they spoke of a false prophet who would come. I forget exactly what the details were, but I know that Jesus fit all of these details. According to this, Jesus, was a false prophet. I'm sure Daniel was one of the books. But I don't remember the versus. If you're really interested trying searching...Jesus "false prophet" See what you get. Just to let people know, I have been labeled an "anti-christian" and take pride in being called that.

I found the link rather interesting. To me it simply demonstrated how much Christianity really did develop out of the cultures/practices that it was trying to squash during its' history. While some of the topics were diliberately taken out of context in order to make a point about discrepencies within the bible, the effect was not lost. I have found very few people who deny that the bible does contradict itself in certain areas. However, the ways in which one is willing/able to interpret written words for themselves - along with their faith - often dictates whether such discrepencies are a "sore spot" for them or not. For some people it is enough to dismiss the religion as a whole, for others only part, & some see no discrepancies themselves. However, the same can be said of most any spiritual/Holy book...especially when there are cultural difference between the reader & the authors.
