Barty couldn't help but laugh at Cedric's mock anger. "Yes, yes, you're such a menacing Hufflepuff." He burst out laughing when Cedric mentioned that he had worn the outfit to a funeral. "See, I told you! Well, get that cloak out & let's see if we can't turn you into a Slytherin."

Cedric quickly dressed, and stepped back for approval. He held his hands out in mock poses.."Ta-daaa."
Cedric found that he was greatly enjoying himself with Barty Jr. In fact, he had forgotten that the man was a Death Eater..almost.

Barty eyed him momentarily & then smiled. "Alright, I guess that will have to do. Hopefully no one will recognize you. Shall we leave?"

"Sure, whenever you are ready." Cedric stepped over to the floo that was in the corner of his massive bedroom. "We can go from here..but, umm..if you don't mind, could we floo into Diagon Alley and then walk into Knockturn Alley?" He blushed red.
"Appearances you know? The ministry could be watching the floo networks."

Barty shook his head understandingly. "Sure, we wouldn't want them thinking that you were doing something naughty now would we?" he asked while pulling his hood down low over his head to obscure his face.

"Exactly."
Cedric stepped into the floo after picking up a handful of floo powder. Seeing Barty watching him with an amusing look, he narrowed his eyes at him playfully.
"Do not get lost Barty." He could not help but tease him.
"Diagon Alley!" The darkness swirled around him as he was whisked toward Diagon Alley.

Barty couldn't help but give Cedric a mock glare at the mentioning of him getting lost. Once Cedric was gone he grabbed a handful of floo powder, stepped into the fireplace & stated clearly "Diagon Alley" while tossing down the powder. He was immediately engulfed within a bright green flame & disappeared.

After arriving home from his time with Barty, Cedric collapsed on the nearest sofa that he could find. He was very happy at that moment that the living room was set up the way it was. There were plenty of places to rest.
He laid there with his eyes shut, his head spinning too much to do anything more. he knew that Barty would be back soon. He just had some business to attend to. Cedric knew that he really should take a shower...but..
He drifted off into an uneasy, feverish sleep.

He awoke once during the night....Cedric had no idea as to what time it was. He saw that the fire had burned low. He jumped slightly when he saw a figure emerge beside the sofa. He strained his eyes to see who it was, and was very relieved to see Kaylie standing beside the couch with a cup of tea and another vial for him.
"Master Diggory, I am sorry to wake you sir. But I feel that you must drink another vial sir...for that is the only way you will get better. Also, I took the liberty of making you a cup of tea sir."
Kaylie was not skittish at all around Cedric. She learned long ago that the family that she served would never abuse her. Cedric smiled down at her.
"Yes, Kaylie..thank you very much. Even though it isn't the best tasting in the world, I must continue to take the potions." He threw back the vial (which was the best thing to do, considering the taste), then took a few sips of his tea.
He patted the couch beside him. "Come on up here with me." Kaylie smiled warmly at him and jumped up beside him. Cedric felt himself dozing once again as Kaylie stroked his wet hair from his face.

It was much later when Cedric woke. It was still dark, but he found himself no longer tired. Seeing that Kaylie was no longer beside him, he rose, and walked to the window. Still no sign of Barty[/]. Cedric's brow furrowed. He hoped that Barty had not been caught, or had fallen upon some other trouble.
"Master Cedric." He heard Kaylie's voice behind him. Turning, he saw that the elf had tea already brewed for him.
Cedric kneeled down in front of her. "You always seem to know when I am about to wake, don't you?" Kaylie smiled, but said nothing.
He stood up, and then took the mug of tea. He sat on the sofa, waiting to see when, and if, Barty would show up.

There was a sudden rumbling from the floo as Barty Jr finally stepped out. Spotting Decric he smiled widely. "Ah! Sorry for how long that took Ced. I was catching up with a very close friend that I haven't seen in far too long."
Noticing the mug of tea within Cedric's hand he suddenly remembered the fact that Cedric had been sick when he left. "So how are you feeling? Are you still taking those vials?"

Cedric jumped when he heard the floo. He had just sat down when Barty Jr. had come through it, so he wasn't entirely prepared.
"Oh, no problem Barty. I feel quite a bit better, thank you." He smiled, grateful that Barty had even remembered that he was sick. "I must admit that I fell into a deep sleep while you were gone. Kaylie here took care of me, and made sure that I kept true to my word on taking the potions."
He frowned as he realized his bad manners. "I am sorry..please forgive me. You must be exhausted. You may go up to your room now..Kaylie has freshened everything up." Cedric yawned and began to head up to bed himself to sleep away what was left of the night. He turned. "Oh, and by the way, make yourself at home. If you get hungry, the kitchen is that way." He pointed to the left, before continuing up the stairs.

Barty smiled towards Kaylie when Cedric admitted that the elf had kept reminding him about the potions. "Well that's good then." It became obvious that Cedric was very tired to say the least. The thought crept into Barty's mind that he may have stayed up just to be sure that Barty had come back safely. He couldn't help the warm feeling that washed over him at this thought. "You head up to bed, Ced. You shouldn't have stayed up this late anyway. I'm a big boy I can take care of myself. I'll see you in the morning," he called up to Cedric's retreating figure.
He listened for Cedric's bedroom door to close before turning to Kaylie & smiling once again. "Thank you fo taking care of him while I was gone. I really shouldn't have stayed away so long, but I had to meet with someone very dear to me." He patted the elfs head gently. "Could you please fetch me a glass of fire whiskey? I promise that afterwards I will leave you alone so you can also go to bed."
"Right away Barty," she chimed with a giggle & hurried out of the room.
Barty looked around at the various objects around the room. There were a couple of awards from Hogwarts that Cedric had won. One for Transfiguration & one for quidditch. Barty's eyes rested on the small statue of a Quidditch Seeker triumphantly holding a snitch up in his hand while flying through the air. Barty had wanted to be a quidditch player when he was student at Hogwarts. His father had felt otherwise, even though they easily has the money to afford the costs of his playing. That hadn't been the first thing that they had disagreed upon & it was far from the last.
Barty was startled out of his thoughts when Kaylie cleared her throat behind him. He spun to find her holding up his drink. "Here you are," she said cheerfully. The crease in his forehead softened & Barty suddenly realized just how tired he really was. Sighing, he took the drink & thanked Kaylie before silently heading up the stairs to his room. He stood in the doorway for a moment & glanced over the room, which was clearly a guest room. It had a large number of fluffy pillows on the bed along with extra blankets draped over the footboard. Without looking at the rest of the furnishings Barty walked straight to the bed, downed his glass of firewhiskey & then eased himself down on top of the numerous pillows. It was only a matter of moments before he was sound asleep.

When Cedric reached his room, he sleepily undressed and got into his nightclothes. He heard Barty making his way up the stairs. He could not help but feel warm feelings for Barty Jr. He felt sorry for him after what his hypocrite father had done, and he..liked the man. He was funny in a harsh kind of way. Perhaps that was what Barty Sr. hated..that his son actually had a sense of humor, as dark as it may be. Lying down in the bed, he leaned over and blew out the candle. He was asleep almost immediately.

*******************
Cedric
In his dream he was running from an unseen assailant. He carried his wand, but he did not stop to fight. All he knew was that he wanted to escape as quickly as possible. He began to feel the pursuer's hot breath on his neck..
Cedric awoke with a start to find himself safely in his bed. In his sleep, he had thrashed around, and had knocked the blankets all the way off the bed. He was drenched with sweat. Running a hand through his wet hair, he drew back the drapes. He was glad to see that it was morning..mid-morning by the look of it. Standing up, he selected the clothes that he would wear that day, and proceeded to the bathroom adjoining his room. He knew that a shower would completely erase all the remaining shakiness that he still felt from the dream.
