NOTE: Not much is stated about the Diggory family..so for the character of Cedric, I had to improvise as to his ancestry, financial status, and household. Most of what is written below, I have personally created for the Diggory family.
*The home of the Diggorys' is located near the village of Ottery St. Catchpole. They seem to live in the same general area as the Lovegoods and the Weasleys. The Diggorys are a Pure-blood family that can be traced back at least five centuries. As far back as the Diggorys can trace, their entire line have been Hufflepuffs. They are an upper- class Wizarding family, and they live comfortably. However, they do not flaunt their wealth, and have been known to help out fellow wizards who had fallen on hard times.
The Diggory house is situated atop a small hill, surrounded by pine trees on all sides. One can enter from the north side where there is a small, cobblestone walkway for visitors that will lead them to the front door. Upon entering, there is a fireplace directly opposite the door. There is a large painting above the mantle of the first Diggory ancestor to live in this house...Alastair Diggory (1690-1742). The portrait is flanked on either side by two large sconces. A very large candle chandelier hangs over the entrance hall.
To the left of the fireplace is a spiral staircase that twists its way to the two floors above. To the right of the fireplace is the other side of the staircase that descends from above.
On the first floor there is a den, a parlor, kitchen, dining room, library and two bathrooms. On the second floor there are three bedrooms and another bathroom. On the third floor there are more living quarters, two more bathrooms, and another den. Finally, at the very top of the house lies the attic..where many heirlooms of the Diggory family lie preserved.
The atmosphere of the house is one that is warm and inviting. the house elves are treated with respect..and for that reason the elves adore their wizard masters. All guests to the house are made welcome with all the proper manners of the upper class families

There was a loud noise from the floo as Cedric and Barty Jr. arrived at the Manor. Cedric stayed behind to let Barty inspect the house for himself. He saw his house elf come running out of the other room. Cedric smiled. "Stay there Kaylie." he instructed her. He turned to Barty. "That is one of our house elves Kaylie. She happens to be my personal favorite."

Barty froze & looked around the room before actually stepping out of the floo. He spotted the house elf come into the room & listened to the introduction by Cedric. "Hello Kaylie. I'm Barty Jr. I ask that you keep out of my way for a few minutes while I inspect the house."
He slowly walked out of the floo & studied the room that he was standing in. He peered in every corner & pulled out every piece of furniture with his wand to complete his inspection. Once he was finished with this room, he moved onto the next. For quite some time the sounds of furniture being pulled out & put back in there proper places could be heard through out the house. After quite a bit of time had passed the ruckus stopped & Barty Jr finally re-emerged in the doorway. "Well, well Cedric. Your father must be greatly respected at the Ministry...no bugs," he pronounced with a sideways grin.

Cedric could not help but laugh as he heard Junior. making his way throughout the house, inspecting it. He kept his hand over his mouth to stifle any sounds. He did not want him to think that he was talking to someone, and come flying back in. When he finally reemerged, he seemed much more relaxed as before.
He glanced at Junior. "Yes, my father is well-respected..but like you said..it is not beyond the Ministry's policies to bug homes. Even if they are..respectable." He smiled. "Well, now that the house has been deemed suitable, would you care for a drink? We have plenty of firewhiskey..even though my father can not really handle it. It seems to be too strong for his system, and he gets drunk fairly quickly when he drinks it."
Cedric motioned for him to sit down on one of the plush sofas in front of the fireplace.

Barty Jr sat down gratefully & nodded approvingly upon the mention of firewhiskey. "I'm glad to see that you're not one of those Ministry-brats that seems to only see the Ministry through rose-colored glasses. It's rather odd though with you being a Hufflepuff & all." He paused & considered how that last comment could have sounded like an insult.
"Know that I mean no offense by that. It's simply that not viewing the Ministry with rose-colored glasses seems somewhat...cynical for someone from your house. At least in my experience that is."

Cedric laughed as he poured the firewhiskey. "No offense taken my friend. I will assure that "Hufflepuff" does not mean naive. At least not in my case." Hands him the drink. "Here you are."
Cedric looked around for Kaylie. "Kaylie". The house elf appeared beside him. "Yes master Cedrc?"
"Would you fix up our best guest suite for Junior here?" He smiled at Junior. "You are welcome to anything in the house as long as you are here. The way I see it, you are a guest and not a fugitive."

Barty Jr sat back & relaxed, imbibing deeply from his glass of firewhiskey. "Why thank you Cedric. I'm sure such a setting will allieviate that 'cooped up feeling' that we were discussing before coming here." He winked & took another drink.

"Anytime"
Cedric smiled and took a sip of firewhiskey. Instantly, he felt his face getting red from the strength of the drink. How could people drink this all of the time. Junior does not even flinch at his. He sat it down on the table, hoping that Junior did not realize what had happened.

Barty Jr smirked when he saw Cedrics' face upon tasting the firewhiskey. "It's an acquired taste, my friend. Not for the faint of heart. Though there are variations of it that you may find more palatable...Such as Chocolate he**, Toxic Shock, etc. Then again Toxic Shock is about the equivalent of 3 firewhiskeys in one glass," he said laughing.

Cedric was amazed. "The equivilent of THREE firewhiskeys in one glass??. Are you serious? Who would want to drink something that strong?"
He felt that he already knew the answer to that. A smile spread across his face.

Barty Jr smiled back at Cedric with a very wide grin. "That's right. Toxic Shock is one of my drinks of choice. I love it." He looked around a bit & stretched slightly. "So, what would you like to do now?"

Cedric laughed as he knew, indeed, that Junior would in fact be someone to drink those.
"Well, I do not know what we should do..umm" he motioned to Kaylie. "Has the guest room been prepared yet?"
"Yes master Cedric," she answered.
Cedric smiled at Junior. "Well, would you like to see your room? You are probably exhausted, and are just not saying anything."

Barty raised an eyebrow as mention of his room came up. "Sure, I could have a look at it. I'm really not that tired though. I've done virtually nothing but sit & wait for 13 years now, so I'd prefer to remain in your company a bit longer."
He drank down the rest of his firewhiskey & called for Winky once more. Instantly the small elf reappeared & approached him. "Bring me a Toxic Shock," was his short order. Silently, she scampered out of the room to fetch the drink. He turned his attention back to Cedric. "So tell me, when is your father due back again?"

Cedric was amazed that Junior was not tired. If he had been avoiding detection like he said, certainly he would want to rest..a real rest without being on the run.
"I am sorry. I isn't that I do not enjoy your comapny. Quite the contrary actually..I just thought that you would be tired after all that you have been through." He smiled.
"My father will be back in two weeks. So I hope that will be plenty of time for you to locate your friends..and to find safe harbor."
Cedric sat by the fireplace. "I would ask you if you were hungry, but considering we just ate, I think that we can wait on that as well." Cedric frowned slightly, hoping that he wasn't making Junior uncomfortable..or worse..boring him to death.

Barty waved his hand dismissively. "No, I'm not tired. On edge a bit, sure; but not tired. And, no I'm not all that hungry either." Winky came scurrying into the room with a large glass of ruby-red liquid, handing the drink to Barty. "Ah, thank you dear," he said with a smile. Closing his eyes, he took a long drink. "Mmmm...nothing beats a good Toxic Shock to calm the nerves."
He returned his attention back to Cedric. "Sorry about that, but I do love my drink. Two weeks eh? That sounds good. I hope that I can find someone by then," he said with a slight giggle.
He sloshed his drink around in his hand for a moment before continuing. "All that I have been through...that is why we came here now isn't it? So we could talk openly about such things, am I right?"
