well without further delay, I shall present
Embracing the darkness
My name is Bahamut, of the Second Generation of Cain. My sire is Cain.
Firstly let me say, Vampires are real, you've probably meet one and just don't know it. They are everywhere, nightclubs, back allies. Everywhere. I my self a vampire, a very powerful vampire, that is how I sit here writing this without worrying about a blood hunt braking my door down. Normally if a vampire even showed his fangs in public he might be killed. I suppose this is the equivalent of walking into ITV, baring my fangs, telling everyone I am a vampire. Then ripping everyone's throats out on TV. But as I said I am very powerful.
I was 17 when I met my first vampire, a gullible youth. Sure I knew there were strange things out there, and I told people I believed in vampires, even convinced a few to believe too. But you can never truly believe in them until you meet one. The first vampire I met (that I know of) was a lowly Rebeli, a vampire who likes to rebel against authority for reasons known only to them. I had been walking home from a great college party and it was getting really late and I was a little drunk, so I decided to take a shortcut through a dark alley. It had seemed a good idea at the time, but when I was walking down the alley, I could feel myself being watched. It really creped me out, so I decided to turn back. As I was turning back, I was confronted by what I thought at the time was a simple mugger. Not being one to back down from a fight, and being more than a little drunk, I charged the man and tried to punch him, but as soon as my fist touched his chin, I regretted it. It was like punching marble, I tried to scream in agony, but his hand was on my mouth. I heard him whisper something about me being quite a dish, I felt his cold breath on my neck and I was ready to kiss my butt goodbye, when out of the shadows walks this man with the most confident expression I had ever seen. He spoke something in a strange language, which I had never heard. Whatever he said seemed to make my captor very angry. My captor turned to me and told me I had been very lucky this night, and said that he had found much better prey, and so he let go of me, I don't know why even to this night, but from somewhere deep inside, a courage, nay a need told me I had to stay. "I don't think so. I appreciate your help, whoever you are" at which Mr cool-as-a-cucumber nodded his gratitude, I then turned to the mugger "but I don't let anyone try and mug me, without at least a broken jaw. So get ready for an a** whopin, BOY!" this last word was meant to anger him into attacking me in rage, making him clumsy. It worked. He charged at me with speed I'd only ever seen once.
My dad was a travelling salesman, but as a boy, he had taught me how to fight, teaching me a fighting style he called "Echani". His speed had been incredible, no one could land a hit on him, it was almost like he knew when and where he or she would hit. Only I had been anywhere close to his skill, and he had taught me a style, which would use an opponent's speed and strength against them. Echani. Good thing too, cause I was going to need it.
=-I came out of my flashback a little too late; his fist hit me square in the chest knocking me into the wall. I coughed. "Blood?" No one had ever made me bleed. Ever. The man who had come to save me became angry and leapt at my attacker. "NO!" I managed to lift myself and quickly kick him in mid air, causing him to fall back onto the floor. A look of bewilderment and anger crossed over his face. "I told you," I explained between breaths "I want to do this" I saw a tear in his eye, only for a second but it was there. "Please, let me do this" Why was I talking to him like I knew him? It was like I had known him all my life. My thoughts were interrupted as the strange man shouted for me to look out; I turned just in time to see my opponent come in fists flying "watch out! He's gone frenzied!!"Frenzied? In an instant, all my training came back to me, dad had said it would, but I never believed him. It was incredible; my opponent didn't know what hit him. I parried his punch and spun around him, elbowing him into the wall in the process. That seemed to put a smile on my observer, if he liked that, he was going to love this. My attacker pushed himself off the wall, only to find himself the victim of a barrage of blows designed to break every possible bone in his body. My dad had taught me this move, "only for life or death situations" he had said. Well if this wasn't one now, then what was? It worked, only just though, my attacker crumpled to the floor in an obvious amount of pain, and I don't think the kick in the ribs helped much.
"I'm impressed child; it's been a long time since I saw such moves." He spoke with genuine honesty,
"Yeah well, if you hadn't come when you did, I'd be dead about now, still it's strange I think he was going to bite me, and what was with his chin, my fist still hurts" I rubbed my fist gingerly, must be broken "well you seemed to handle yourself pretty well, my name's Nica, your hand is broken, let me see" Nica took my hand with a gentle grip and began to rub it "I'm Alex, say what language was that you spoke? I've travelled a bit, but I haven't heard it before" Nica stopped,
"Alex, that language you have just heard was vampiric, myself and that creature that attacked you are vampire's" I digested the information for a moment, if that mugger was a vampire, it would explain why I had broken my hand punching him, why he had tried to bite me and why he had been so fast. "So are you going to try and drink my blood, cause if you are then you best forget it, cause I'll kill you, just like your friend here" I gave the downed "Vampire" a hard kick,
"Alex, if I wanted you dead, you'd be dead, and why would I try to save you if I was just going to kill you myself" he had a point, but I still didn't drop my guard, even though he would probably be able to kill me in the condition I was in "what do you want?" His reply was slow and seemed to penetrate my soul
"To teach you"
