Hi guys.
Okay, so I've always liked bellydancing music & the like. But I never really had a chance to listen to modern-day Arabic music before. Well, I recently discovered an Arabic music channel within our satellite channels. It's called Melody Arabia, kind of like the Arabian version of MTV. LOL!
Anyway, it's great! I've been taping videos of songs that I like constantly. Even though I can't read anything written on the channel or understand the words. I've been cheating by coming online & looking through Arabic music sites to find the images of musicians that have "caught my ear", so I would know their names. ;D
A couple of the prominent ones are Nancy Ajram & Rola Saad. There is another one, but I haven't been successful in finding her name yet. I can't even look up the song title because it is written in Arabic on the music channel. LOL!
So, does anyone else listen to Arabic music/artists?
Sincerely, Laurasia

I also have enjoyed the Arabia channel..I agree with you that Nancy and Rola are excellent. I think part of what draws us to Arabic music is that they still employ all of the old instruments into the modern music. They have never strayed from their musical roots. For those of us who remember past lives in the ancient Arabian culture, it is very soothing to still hear the old style used. The great news is that our satellite dish is a "super dish", so we will not be losing the channel..it is permanent. thought that ought to brighten your day.
