Hello everyone.
Amanda & myself simply adore these movies. They are very intriguing & entertaining. What are your thoughts about the Potter films?
Sincerely, Laurasia

I myself don't go out of my way to watch them. My sister, on the other hand, loves them. Her and it seems like everyone else here is obsessed with Harry Potter! (yet another reason I feel so out of place )

Hi Stitch. Oh don't feel out of place, sweety. We still love you...even though you like Spongebob & hate Harry. Just kidding. You know we love you for the person that you are. Hey I believe that some members aren't even that keen on Lord of the Rings, they just like the cozy atmosphere of the site. ;D Sincerely, Laurasia

Daggit Laurasia... you know me too well. I've watched one of them. I wouldn't say I'm into it though. Yes I like my sponge bob, I watch it with my little brother. I'm still a cartoon kid ;D*childish laugh*;D I can't help it. -Stitch

Ummmmmm. . . Harry Potter movies, well these actually bring out my inner insanity better than anything else. Let me explain. I love the books, and I sit in the movie thinking how much it sucks and what a waste of money it was. Then I proceed to dis-reccommend it to everyone thinking about seeing it.
Then I watch it 6 more times. And I fall for it every time. I am currently extremely excited about the fourth movie; I plastered my wall with movie pictures, and I have watched the preview at least 5 times. I honestly don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe it's just the anticipation or the atmosphere I like. I will probably go on the first day with a bunch of friends and we will spend an hour giggling and squeeling waiting for the movie to start. And around we go. Again.
So, I guess they're fun movies to watch, and sometimes they do justice to the book, in parts (rarely!) So I love and hate them. Like I said, it's the inner insanity.
But like I said I love the books, almost as much as Lord of the Rings.

Hi Aelish. LOL! Sounds like me with "The Fellowship of the Ring". The first time I saw it I absolutely hated it, all because of the ending. I ranted about how the movie just stopped all the way until "The Two Towers" came out. Then everything was cool. Don't ask me why, I don't know. It was just one of those things I guess. I knew that the book ended just as abruptly, but I guess that I didn't expect the PJ to do that because...well, because it was a movie. Sincerely, Laurasia

Actually, with the Fellowship, I think we're lucky PJ ended it where he did because the book ends even more abruptly than the movie. It leaves off as Frodo&Sam are on the other bank, but it leaves the rest of the Fellowship running wildly through the woods looking for Frodo!

I have to agree with Aelish on this one. The book does end even more abruptly, and that would have been awful when you have to wait for a sequel. Laurasia did not notice that when I read her the books though, because I had all three of them at hand, and I was able to continue with the plot.

I can hardly wait for November 18th..that is the opening of the new Harry Potter film, 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. Even though I adore Draco, I can hardly wait for the ferret scene! I think ferrets are adorable though.

I am currently extremely excited about the fourth movie; I am afraid here that I must recant my previous claim. Seeing pictures of Hermione in a frilly pink dress has utterly destroyed my excitement for this movie. Of course I will go see it anyway, just because it's Harry Potter , but I am really not excited about it anymore. I was leafing though this calender/planner a few days ago with pictures from the movies, and they seem to be changing so much! And not in a positive way either. erghhhhhhhhhh! I am not looking forward to this anymore. Oh well, at least I can still curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and read the books. Sorry, I don't mean to sound so depressing, but I love these books and it seems like they are ruining the story, but that is just my view. I hope you guys enjoy it though. ~Aelish~

Hi Aelish. Don't worry sweety. It might not be so bad once you see it. I on the other hand am still very excited about seeing it. Though I would rather see some of the more recent books in the series on film. Alas, you need to go through this one before you can get to the ones following it. I tend to like the Slytherins & Death Eaters more, so the movies are still great for me. Sincerely, Laurasia

I share your frustration!! I wish that we were in fact going to see The Half-Blood Prince!! I want to see that one so badly, I'm surprised I am not dreaming of every which way the directors could film it. Oh well such is life.

I saw the films, all four of them, for the first time at the weekend.Surprisingly entertaining I have tried the books but,in all honesty, find her to be a truly atrocious writer-and far from original. The books bring to mind the old 'Worst Witch' series, along with a few others along the same theme that were around when I was a child. So,as I disliked the books so very much,I'd avoided the films before, but my daughter was given them for Christmas so I gritted my teeth and sat down with her to watch It's been quite some time since I've had such a good giggle ;D
