I wasn't sure which section to put this in so I figured the general section was a safe bet.
I'm sure everyone knows what Deja vu is. Its when you walk in to a room or where ever and something happens that you swear you saw before. That, that exact situation happened before. Like time was looping.
A lot of people say that its just a clitch in your memory receptors. That what you are seeing you are seeing for the first time but your mind puts it in the past memories section of your mind so quickly that it feels repetitive.
Personally I don't buy this. Every now and then I will get images in my mind of particular situations, even people and places I haven't seen before. A few of them I have made mental notes of and some of them I've written down. Then later on either days, weeks, months even years later I will see that exact same image again. The very situation that the first time I saw it in my mind I had no idea who these people were or where the place was, was all of a sudden happening. Except in the present obviously I knew who they were.
I became curious about some things about it, so I tried an experiment. I constructed a situation in my mind. I imagined what the people would look like, what the place would look like and what would be happening. I would imagine it as strong as I could until the image became completely vivid. Even if it was just a couple of seconds. Then sure enough in time it would happen.
Now perhaps this is the phycic part of me that subconsciously knew this would happen but I thought I made it up. Or this could actually be me somehow constructing my own future through mental manifestation.
What are your theories on this?

This is really interesting. I would say it is absoloutly possible that you influenced the events that happened. Although, it could be the psychic idea also. Not being psychic myself, I know nothing about it, but it seems like it comes to you rather than you imagining it. Essentially, this is what magic is. If you ask almost any pagan or wiccan who practices magic what it is, they will tell you something along the lines of 'the mental intent manifested in the physical.' Or at least that's my definition, but I have heard many like it. So I would say, essentially you inadvertantly did magic. Well done! Just be careful, it's usually not considered particularly ethical to try to control other people's actions in a situation.

Oh don't worry I'm very ethical. The people I would imagine in my mind I would construct myself. For example I'd say.. hmm ok I'm going to imagine a man sitting right over there. He has brown hair.. no wait.. I'll give him long black hair.. and so on. I'll decide what he's wearing etc... These are people that I had no idea even existed. At the time when I tried this I had no idea it would even work and I didn't find out untill it happened that it actually worked. I would not try to control someone elses life. Then again this could be the phycic information in my mind that I was exploring in a different way and didn't realize it at the time. I personally believe eveyone is phycic. Its just that not everyone has tapped into it. Also a lot of people are phycic but they have no idea that it is phycic. It is so normal to them that they think everyone is like that all the time. I firmly belive that everyone is phycic it just comes a little easier to some than other. You could be phycic and not even know it.

Yeah, I've had some possibly psychic experiences, kind of stupid stuff though. If I am in a very relaxed, clear thinking state I can know the time even if I haven't seen a clock in hours and there is none in my view. I am almost always within five minutes; But everytime I try to do this I can't, it just sort of happens, although I have been able to do it a bit more consiously recently. Like I said, it's a pretty stupid thing. But it's the kind of thing that just comes to me. If I start thinking ,"ok if feels like it's been about 20 minutes, and it should be such and such O'clock . . " I am sure to get it wrong. Hence my impression that psychic infomation comes to us without our own thought interfering, but like I said, I really don't know anything about it. Also when I was little, I used to have these moments where I would feel like - this is really hard to explain - like I was older or something. It was like for a moment I was several years older and was looking back on my life. And then when I got to be about 17 I all of a sudden got these feelings like I had been this age before. It wasn't a place or a person that I remembered, just the feeling of having this amout of time behind me, of being at this point in my life. And I have continued to have these moments, though less frequently, about being older than I am now. I am not sure if that has anything to do with being psychic, but it sounds somewhat like it. When I say I am not psychic I usually am thinking of my idea of psychics who know what they can do and can do it at will. But maybe it is not always like that.

I think we are all co creators (Tolkien would say sub-creators) I think we create our reality on a collective and to some degree on a personal level...We all have the potential to see a glimpse of something before it happens ...more like we are seeing the effect of countless causes...sometimes it goes differently sometimes it happens the way we see it... I think prophets are people who can see more of the tapestry so to speak than most others... There is nothing really that fantastical about such abilities.....Im rambling and perhaps gone off topic (or not)...

Hi Kirsty. Being a Pagan, I would have to agree with what has been said. Specifically by Twilight. It sounds as though you have manifested in the physical what you wanted through your will. Sincerely, Laurasia

I agree with Kirsty in that I believe that everyone has psychic abilities within themselves. Some people find that energy easier to tap into, thus they are "psychics". However, I think that those of us who do not think they are psychic or have never had an experience have what I like to call "minds in hibernation". That part of their brains are not actively alert. I think that there are books out on this that are meant to "trigger" your innane psychic ability. Having never read any, I would not know which ones to recommend. Also I have personally witnessed people who think that they have no "psychic abilty" do things such as know what songs are playing on the radio before turning it on, knows what part in the movie that is playing on tv exactly, down to the very line being said. These, to me, just enforce my belief that everyone has psychic abilities. It is just a matter of awakening it.

*innate? I also think everyone has the potential for to be "psychic" or whatever you want to call it. I have never had much luck with books or spells in the area of psychic awakening, but they probably work for some. I usually like to try to figure out things by myself, do things my own way, particularly in magic. I think I am naturally biased against book instructions because I am too stubborn to give up trying to find my own way. I am probably one of those people who would leave the trail because I thought there was abetter way, and end up dieing in the woods because I wouldn't admit that there was a better way and it wasn't mine. Fortunately, I have never gone camping or hiking. ~Aelish~

That is the word..I am still trying to get used to this new keyboard, and the letters are a lot closer together. Thank you for clarifying that aelish. I usually tend to not to follow only books either, for the simple fact that most books are written from one person's perspective on what they have felt, and therefore one opinion. I read many books to get differing opinions, and experiences. Then I experiment myself to see who I can relate to the most. For example, in my Wicca practices, I follow the teachings of Scott Cunningham the most because everything doesn't always have to be ritualized with him. So, especially with "psychic-learning" books, I would definitly advise someone to read more than one or even two accounts.
