~hugs tightly~ I'm sorry that they found in such a traitorous way sweety. It seems to be time to sit down & have that calm, firm, adult conversation with them that I've been telling you about. I am glad to see that you're standing your ground & not letting them dictate what you will & will not do regarding something so important to you as well. I know that it's hard when your parents do not accept a part of yourself, but as long as they still love YOU. No one says that they have to love your preferences.

I could care less if they don't like my decisions, I just wish they'd stand by me and understand me. Maybe I'm asking too much? It seems like they criticize everything I do.

Now usually I LOVE snow, but this week it has done nothing but leave Amanda & I with a huge stress-induced headache. To start things off we woke up to a blizzard on Sunday morning that caused us to have to call into our supervisor & let her know that we were unable to drive the 20 miles into work due to the fact that we couldn't even see the flagpole in our front yard. We had to pay to have our driveway dug out because we only had a small snowblower at our disposal to use & it was choked out by the 12 inches that we ended up getting. We weren't too upset about any of this until we went to work on Tuesday. Our boss pulled us aside with the GM in order to "speak to us" about what had happened on Sunday. Apparently we hadn't "tried hard enough to get into work on Sunday". I'm sorry but EXCUSE ME???!!!! We work at a hotel & in 5 years WE are the only ones who regularly stay overnight when we know that a nasty storm is coming just so we are able to be there for work. This storm happened to come earlier than projected & we were stuck at home - sorry I don't comtrol the da** weather! I'm not going to chance killing myself to get there! She was also mad because she had to go in on her day off! That's your job!!!!!! Anyway, later in the day the GM came up & told us not to be too upset because she had to speak with our supervisor herself about the fact that she is the head of our department & that there will be times when she has to come in on her days off to cover people....that is the drawback of being the head of a department. Well, that's fine & all - thank you for setting her straight about that, but I'm still insulted by being told that I didn't try hard enough to get in. Which leads us to Thursday night. Guess who had to stay overnight at the hotel because we heard that another nasty storm was going to be coming through? That's right....US! Which was rather stressful because we have been bird-sitting all week for Amanda's parents & the bird is used to being out of his cage all day & not being alone. So we knew that us needing to leave him alone all day & night was going to scare & stress him. But you have to do what you have to do, so we set him up & left. We ended up getting over another foot of snow from the last blizzard & had to dig out the hotel & then come home & dig out here. We also had to pay to have the driveway dug out again. Like I said, I usually love snow. And now that it's down & we can enjoy it, it really is gorgeous. But MAN did it give us one he** of a headache this week.

Oh we had a good laugh in the office, laughing to keep from screaming because it hurt like a ***********!!!!!!!! It got better because the guy told my manager we shouldn't make the plates so hot... dude.... why the.... Ok there are two plates because the bottom one is to "keep you from burning the he** out of yourself on the top one" which didn't work out in my case... but this dumb guy intentionally touched it and said "yeah you're right it's hot" ... ... WELL NO **** SHERLOCK!!!! I'm just gripping ice for the fun of it, because I like the cold water dripping down my arm!!!! Sorry iggnorant/stupid people annoy the crap out of me.

I hate slobs!! I really do. Ok, I understand that not everyone lives up to my standards of cleanliness. Don't get me wrong, I am by no means an obsessive perfectionist or anything. BUT COME ON PEOPLE! I thought the age in history was over when people acted like Neanderthals. I could not live in the middle of filth...and I do not see how anyone else could either. Let me put it this way...if it takes me TWO days to clean out 1 room that is maybe 15X30, you are a da** pig!
