Hi guys. This is another on-and-off hobby of mine. Last year a crocheted a patchwork blanket for Amanda's mother in navy blue & white. It was for Christmas. It came out wonderfully, though a bit shorter than I would have liked. I didn't have time to add to the length, as I finished it late at night on Christmas Eve. Anyway, I bought 7 skeins of a nice soft green yarn (It was either sage or olive, I can't recall now. LOL!) to make a full-sized blanket for my own bed. I like having warm, heavy bedding on me when I sleep so I can't wait until it is done. ;D Sincerely, Laurasia

I certainly know that you will do a good job dear. My mom absolutely adores hers even to this day..she is like me though, she doesn't stay cold enough for it all the time. I have no doubt that your new creation will be just as beautiful as the first.

My mom does, she's tried teaching me but I just don't have the patience for it. She's gone as far as to make an american flag for my room. She does the scarves, blankets and has made quite a few sweaters.

I never had the patience to learn how either. For people like us Stitch, there is a wonderful craft called latchhooking. The sad news about this is is that there are not many patterns out there like at Wal-mart. They are all happy-go-lucky rainbows and stuff..nothing really challenging. Unfortunately, the real good ones cost more and are usually only found at craft specialty stores.

Speaking of crocheting scarves...I've started one for Brandybuck from the Harry Potter movies. I'm hoping to have it finished in time for the movie. It's a Hufflepuff House scarf, you got to have some sort of memorial for poor Cedric after all. Sincerely, Laurasia

As stated in my intro a long time ago (sorry I have been away so long) I LOVE Crochet! I learned how as a child reading instructions from a pamphlet that my mother got for me (in the late 1970's, now that should freak you out!) and I made stuff, then stopped, then made more stuff, then stopped - and then in 1997, I literally fell upon something that ended up becoming a part-time business. Can you believe that this September it will be ten years?? In any event, almost ALL of it is hats - and since I use hemp yarn often, I started learning about magickal qualities of that (and ended up getting published this year with an Article on "Magical Hemp" in Llewellyn's 2007 Wicca Almanac, which was just released!). The reason I still have this job? Because it forces me to be still and I can get paid to meditate and zone out! Calantirniel/aka AarTiana www.myspace.com/aartianaP.S. Well now I am also learning how to knite. I have to say that crocheting is a lot easier then knitting but I am not going to give up. I am going to give this a try.

I HATE knitting! I tried & tried, but only succeeded in making myself angry & throwing the knitting needles across the room. LOL! I will stick with crocheting, thank you. Good luck with the knitting though Hadassah. Sincerely, Laurasia
