I watch a "A Haunting" and sometimes T.A.P.S. On a lot of the shows they show that the spirits are either lost souls or demons and most cases they have to have a priest come in and do an excerism of the house or person?
Most Christian pastors, I talk to believe that ghosts are demons pretending to be the person who has passed away. I think there could be some truth to this but I feel it could be possible that it could be the spirit of the person. I am not sure what the right answers are with this. I have written to Tina at the Shaldow land. She does a lot of ghost investigations for over 25 yrs and even though she is a Christian she will not asnwer my questions on this. She told me that I have to find my own answers out on this. And she has decided not to get into religion with anyone concerning ghosts.
It would be nice to know the answers to some of my questions. I believe that there is some truth that demons pretend to be a dead person but I feel there could be some truth that the person spirit can stay behind.

You find such reactions among Christians because it contradicts their belief of going on to Heaven or he** after death. (Or, among some factions of Christianity, of "sleeping" until the time of judgement.) As far as demons go, yes they can try to imitate being someone that a person knew. most often though, they make no qualms about being exactly what they are. Priests are used in most cases of these shows because they are filmed in the United States where the prominent belief system is Christian. Remember what I mentioned to you about demons from different cultures needing to be treated differently? Sincerely, Laurasia

I decided to do a Bible study on ghosts. I felt very discouraged because I could not find the answers I was looking for. The only think I could find is that the Bible did not deny their exists but it never mention that they are demons or that a person can stay behind.
When I looked up ghosts I came a cross lots of scriptures in the old and new Testiment of giving up the ghost. One scripture was when Jesus disciples thought he was a ghost and he said "Do not be afraid, a ghost does not have flesh and bone as you see me." Jesus did not deny their exists but he didn't give much information on them and he never called them demons.
I may go back to try to study this topic again because there were some other things I had trouble finding. There was only one scripture about Lucifer.
I feel I need to study the Bible to make sure that I have been taught the right theology. I am beginning to feel that there is theology that may not be correct with the Bible but yet Christians believe it is in the bible.
