Anyone here ever read his work? I'd say he is a genius author, up their with JK and JR as well as Ann Rice.
He mixes in little bits of fact with his fiction, making it all sound like fact. He educates his readers while entertaining them.
His stories are all about The world changing, going from the age of reason back to the age of magic. It features old gods and demons coming back to the world as well as magical creatures good and evil. As the heroes of the story move through their adventures, they slowly stop wishing for a way to bring back the old world and start just focusing on enjoying the new world and just trying to stop the bad forces.
As the world changes more and more, technology stops working like cars and hospitals but magic comes back, sheer belief can change the world and dragons fly down the A32 breathing fire. So far he's written about 11 books, the 12th one still in the works and they're just the kinda books that suck you in and make you say WOW. After reading the books I learned about The Green Man, The Wild Hunt, the Morgan, looked at old legends in a different way, felt like I understood the hidden history of the world though I'm sure that's just the effect of the story. by the end of the book, it feels like you changed along with the characters and can no longer view the world the same way. It's really weird but awesome. Really made me just want to leave it all behind and go journeying like they did, just see all the wonders of the world like Stone Henge and greyfriers bobby, I wanted to visit each village they visited, walk through each building they went into.
Seriously to anyone who hasn't read his work, please please read them, if nothing else, the story is just awesome, even if you don't feel like you learned the secrets of the universe afterwords.
(and best of all, HE'S ENGLISH!! yay for us!)
