I have recently become more aware of a lifetime that I lived during the American Civil War. I had always suspected that I lived back then because of some reactions that I had to seeing certain films regarding the Civil War. In particular, after seeing the movie "Glory" in school, I experienced consciously "stepping back" into a Civil War field hospital.
Due to some recent recollections that have started to emerge I believe that I was a Confederate surgeon (possibly with the rank of Major), who may or may not have been a part of the calvary.

Weren't you also involved in the war with that city named after me? (the city of troy ^^)
I think it was like you were attacking and someone you knew in this life turned out to of been on the other side defending. I can't rember any of my past lives, though I'm sure I had some. I know too much stuff instintivly that I really shouldn't, like knew how to full judo flip my mom over my shoulder before I was 10, as well as lots of other stuff (if I did have a past life, I must of been one bad a** dude...or chick), in primary school I was constantly pulling off compicated martial arts moves on reflex, stuff I had no way of knowing, espcially cause there just werne't that many martial arts shows on tv at the time. Also knew a lot about chi and a lil about torture, as well as knowing stuff about parts of the world I'd never even heard of, till someone would mention the name and I'd list of lots and lots of facts about it.
So if it was you that I rembered being part of the Fall of Troy (ouch *gets back up*) That makes it twice that your soul was in a war, kinda blood thirtsty aren't you Laurasia's soul?

Yes I did live a lifetime during the fall of Troy....were you there as well Trojianmaru? I'd be interested to hear of any recollections that you have had of the time if so. Oh my soul has lived a life of war more times than just twice! Let me see I have served during a war in.....6 out of the 8 lifetimes that I have been able to recall. (I suspect other lifetimes as well, but have not had any actual recollections, in which at least one of them may have fought in another war too.) So, yes, I know all about war - from many differing angles. In fact, I almost went to war in this lifetime as well. Though, thankfully, I finally seem to have broken that cycle this time around.

I've no idea what I was in my past life or lives, or even if I was anything though I know my parents didn't choose my name, it was just one of those random things. WHile arguing over naming me apollo, they accidently said Troy ( So I like to think I had a lil something to do with that from the womb)
I suposse the way the world used to be, it'd be strange if the majority of your lives weren't involved in some war, when you rember your past lives, do you ever rember skills from them? like if you rembered you were a blacksmith would you suddenlly be able to pound the anvil? or if you remembered being a martial artist would you suddenly know the moves by instinct? if That was so, I'd be able to see the apeal of training martial arts from the day I was born to the day I died at 120 years old. Then I could come back as a regular person and have 120 years of martial arts training under my many belts.
Congratulations on not going to war, though you'reo nly in your 30s, plenty of time left for that.

Your parents were going to name you Apollo? Naming their son after the Sun God....perhaps they themselves had a pastlife influence urging them on as well. It rarely works out that someone would completely retain the ability to physically do skills that they held in a former lifetime. (You are working with a new physical body after all which usually alters how one performs a skill - especially one such as martial arts.) However, the past knowledge of a skill does tend to make training your new body, or re-learning, the skill much easier. One tends to have a "natural affinity" for something or an "uncommon knowledge about" a certain topic. Oh nooo.....there won't be any military service for me this time around. I have absolutely no interest in it anymore. Not after all of the crap I went through the last time around. My own life means too much to me now. Sincerely, Laurasia

I think it was more like my dad just thought apollo was cool, he was always very into religion and mythology, speant some time in most religions. buhdist, pagan, mormon, catholic, satanic and probabbly more. Though I doubt he spent much time with any religion, he did tell me he had been a mormon priest. And it was more my dad wanting to name me Apollo, my mom argueing no, then as she once again told him there was no way he'd name their son Apollo, she said by mistake "there is no way, your naming our son Troy...oh wait, that could work"
I supose that is true, a genius surgon could have steady nerves in one body, and in the next hands as shakey as a blender. though that does go with what I've always thought, that our goal in life is to experience as much as we can and learn as much as we can so we can pass it on to our next life, learning and experienceing more and more untill we eventually finish and die for good, and pass on all the experience and knowledge to the "great beyond" or wherever we go. And I know I've had a lot of "uncommon knowldge" and so has my dad. like when someone would ask a question we have no idea about and we'd answer on instinct and somehow get the answer right even though we have zero experiencei n it.
glad to hear you won't be fighting by choice any time soon, but the way the world seems to be going, sometimes I worry we might have to face fighting for our survial soon, or maybe even bring back the drafting and force people to die for their country.

Your dad sounds a lot like me & Brandybuck in regards to religion/spirituality, Troy. It certainly sounds to me as though you & your father have experienced "being touched" by a past experience then. Have you ever tried to purposefully recollect anything from a past life before? )I have some exercises posted to help you with that in this forums sub-forum if you'd like to give it a try. ) I wouldn't pass the physical for a draft anymore, so I'm not worried about that either. Like I said, no fighting for me this time around. As I've been told by a dear friend...I am still very much a soldier in this life, I simply fight a different way in a different kind of war.
