The surprise presumably being that there's bananas in it This is the 'family' version(of course, the original recipe had to be edited as people complained some ingrediants made the soup too surprising) 4 large bananas, peeled 470ml vegatable stock 155ml dry sherry 1 heaped teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 heaped teaspoon brown sugar 2 heaped teaspoons chopped chervil pinch of salt and pepper 1 teaspoon lemon juiceChop 2 of the bananas and put into a pan with the stock. Blend or mash until consistantly smooth and evenly mixed. Slowly bring the liquid to simmering point, taking care not to let it boil, and add the remaining ingrediants. Stir gently for 2-3 minutes to ensure all the sugar has dissolved and leave to simmer for a further 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Take the remaining 2 bananas, chop roughly and arrange in four bowls, add soup and serve.
