Hi guys & gals. It's been fairly quiet around here lately (from my end as well ) & I felt that you guys might be a bit curious as to why that is. (I'm also hoping that you guys are all doing well too.) Anyway, I've recently started a course of study to learn basic German. I know it to a very minor degree & am hoping to expand on that now. So that (& other things ) has get me fairly busy lately. Sincerely, Laurasia

I know it's been a month since you posted this, but I hope you're still doing well and I wondered how the German was going.

Hi Is.
Ugh, what a month it has been! I actually have not been able to work on the last 3 weeks of my lessons due to everything that has been going on. (The latest has been an emergency room visit before work on Tuesday morning.)
I was doing fine up until then. Thankfully I don't have to be done by any certain time. I'll more than likely have to start over right from the beginning again just to be sure that I remember everything. LOL!
Sincerely, Laurasia

Wow, ok, rewind...emergency room why? Are you alright? *missed something somewhere...*
Probably the starting over would be a good idea, just from a perspective of having been away from it for a while. Repetition and continuation is a key to learning new languages.

~sigh~ I guess I haven't done a very good job of keeping people truly updated on what has been going on. I've since had to go back as well. What has happened is that I had to have an emergency dental extraction that ended up releasing a nasty infection throughout my entire system. The infection has not been leaving & I found out that I needed to have more extractions. My last extraction was yesterday...a molar. So, it's been less than fun. Now we're just hoping that the last extraction will finally let the infection clear up. Please keep your fingers crossed for me! Oh yeah, & my parents are coming up for vacation on Monday...as though this month hasn't had enough drama already! Sincerely, Laurasia

Oh, goodness *hugsss* I hope you start getting better. Do they have you on antibiotics and the whole bit, and it's just not responding, or...? And do they know what sort of infection? Staph?
Keep Us updated, and good luck with the parents.

Well, the parents just left this morning - they were good.....surprisingly. I did have to go to the ER again on Monday & they did start me back up on antibiotics. Which do seem to be helping now. The infection is apparently in the saliva glands & the jaw on the left side of my head. They didn't mention any specific type of infection. I do have a doctor appointment on Monday & then another dental appointment on the 16th. So hopefully we can get this thing under control soon.

I hope the doctor's appointment today went well and you're doing some better. Did you find anything new out? Antibiotics clear everything up?

Yes, the appointment went well. I am still on the antibiotics until Thursday. I have been doing very well these past few days thankfully. He wants me to continue with the hot compresses to be sure any lingering infection does come out &, obviously, finish the meds. I'm mostly worried about the infection coming back after the meds run out like it did the last time. So I go back next week to be sure that the infection does indeed clear up & stay gone. Sincerely, Laurasia
