~Frodo Baggins (TA 2968-)
Hobbit of the Shire, Ringbearer, Elf-friend, hero. The only son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck.
In 3018, on Gandalf's advice, Frodo, under the name of Mr. Underhill, went to Rivendell to escape the Nazgul. Along the way, he met Aragorn, and was nearly slain by the Lord of the Nazgul. In Rivendell, he volunteered to undertake the Quest of Mount Doom. After great adventures and heroic deeds with the Fellowship, Frodo reached the Sammath naur, but at the last moment he claimed the Ring for himself. However, Gollum bit off Frodo's ringfinger and then fell into the Sammath Naur, thus fulfilling the Quest.
After the WR, Frodo was Mayor of Michel Delving for less than a year (November 3019-Midyear's Day 3020). He remained discontented in mind and wounded in body, and so passed over with the Last Riding of the Keepers of the Rings, leaving everything he owned to Sam Gamgee.
Frodo wrote the account of the War of the Ring, and the Quest of Mount Doom in the Red Book of Westmarch.
CHARACTERISTICS/CORRESPONDENCES
Frodo has always been more thoughtful and moody than Hobbits usually were, and sought out news of far lands. He was incredibly perceptive of the hearts of all those he encountered. Though Frodo was much troubled by the burden of the Ring and eventually succumbed to it, his resistence was very great. Of the languages Frodo knew Sindarin and a little Quenya, and it was said that he showed uncommon skill in pronouncing foreign languages. he was unmarried.
NOTE: The following correspondences are what I feel personally. In my experience in working with Frodo, this is what I have found calls out to me. Others may find that Frodo has completely different meanings for them..which there is nothing wrong with.
ELEMENT: Water...Frodo is a very perspective Hobbit. He is often viewed as eccentric for his intense (and often flippant) emotional feelings. Like a Cancer in the zodiac, he is capable of a vast array of emotions. He can feel compassion, for example, even for Gollum who has tried to kill him.
COLORS: Blue and green.
REPRESENTS: courage and resilience.
I have used Frodo successfully for a wide variety of magical workings. He can be called upon for strength to overcome obstacles, courage to counter all forms of negativity, and helping to ground yourself. I have also used Frodo for calming the inner turmoil I sometimes face after a hard day. I would recommend using Frodo's power the most when any situation arises that you need to find the inner strength within yourself.
