Hello everyone.
Firstly, I don't want anyone to get nervous about this site becoming an "RPG site". The site is still very much focused on its original purpose: to discuss & explore Middle-Earth Paganism/varying spiritual paths. However, I think that this little "place of escape" would be good for all of us to relax & be creative together.
Well I've had my share of good RPG partners & ghastly ones, so I'd just like to lay out some guidelines...
1) PM the originator of the RPG regarding a character that you would like to play. The person can then add you to the character list. I really don't want to see RPG threads cluttered with "Can I play....?" posts. I just wanted to add on to this rule a bit,as a have noticed a problem coming up on some other RPG sites...With RPG's that are based from movies or books, if you take a character (especially a main character) & do not RP with the character after about a week or only do so extremely sparingly you will loose the character. I absolutely loathe "character hogging" (meaning taking the character just so you can have them & no one else can) & will not tolerate it.
2) It is considered rude to speak for/make actions for another persons character. Do not put words in others mouths or make their actions for them. Only the person playing a particular character knows what their motives/thoughts may be, so let them control their own characters.
3) NO "GOD-MODING"! When you join an RPG you are a part of a team, serving to help the RPG move along. There are no "kings/queens" of the RPGs. I don't want to see anything like a character surviving decapitation, growing extra limbs, etc. (Unless, of course your character is supposed to have such abilities.~i.e. If you are playing someone like Sauron, you will be much stronger than other characters in a confrontation.)
4) Have fun! Remember that this is only RPG. If you & one of your close friends are RPing enemies, don't take anything that is said in the RPG personally. We are here to relax afterall.
Hoping those 3 little rules will cover anything that may come up. If they don't, then I will edit this post accordingly.
Sincerely,
Laurasia
