I reconise those names. They are from a computer game called Vampire: the mascuride. The nofruato look lif nasfurato (the silent film vampire) and the others, the molvan I think that is spelt wrong but they are mad but the most powerful in the game. Sounds like whoever told you this was mucking you about. all though I could be wrong but that is what I know.

Hi Theodora. Yes, they are names of different vampire "clans" from the White Wolf RPG games. They include Nosferatu, Ventrue, Toreador, Brujah, Malkavian, Tzimisce, Ravnos, Gangrel, Assamite, Setite, Lasombra, Tremere. (Plus some "dead" clans within the game such as the Cappadocians, etc.) How much, if any, of the game is based in fact would be for the Immortals to say...& they don't say much. So, it's pretty much up to an individual to decide for themselves what they believe regarding the "clans". Sincerely, Laurasia

Hi Trojianmaru.
No, I don't play. I own quite a few of the books, which I find to be rather entertaining. I've never seen the computer versions of the game.
Sincerely, Laurasia

oh well you should. they are incredable. I only own one of the books but that makes me a vampire expert in the eyes of my friends, lmao! You should really get it. It is like a "day" in the life of an imortal Vampire. you get stronger untill you become very much like Lestat. sorry, I am reviling my roots as a gamer, lol.

Hi Theodora.
For enterainment purposes, they are fairly good. Especially if you enjoy creating your own stories about vampires & such. In that regard they offer some wonderful plot options to work with, as do the rest of White Wolf's RPG publications regarding werewolves, wraiths, etc.
Sincerely, Laurasia

ywah i meant malkavian is it really that good? maybe i should buy it... even though it was a long time ago. I forgot to answer. The computer game really is incredible, years later it's still the best. You get better and better hide outs and even get your very own Ghoul (like blooded human servant). And there's lots and lots of mods. The malkavian is by far the most intresting clan to be a part of. They're so insane that they can't do diolouge like everyone else. they talk gibberish but in the gibberish is lil secrets, things your character reeeeally shouldn't know yet. Like meeting a girl for the very first time and knowing instantly that she has split personality. And with the mods, it gets even better. Your malkavian starts to hear voices, has conversations with the tv news anchor, argues with stop signs ("No you stop"..." NO YOU STOP!") and when you watch tv, it says really strange stuff, like instead of talking professionally about a murder, the news reporter will start to say things like "and in latter news there was a nasty icky murder. some guys got stabbed up n they were all like "ugghhh nooo waaay" n the staby guy was like "ahaha yeeeahh way" n there was blood n stuff n it was really cool. and now the weather, not that a vampire cares since you only go out at night" I guess theo hasn't been on in ages but *shrug* least everyone else knows now.

I did purchase the computer game but, unfortunately, my computer is unable to load the thing up. Big surprise there, right guys! LOL! It does sound pretty interesting though. The Malkavians, by far, are one of the most interesting clans that White Wolf thought up for their games. I would just like to reiterate for newer members that White Wolf is an RPG game & is to be taken as just that....a game. Sincerely, Laurasia

da** sorry to hear that, the same thing happened when I first tried to play it before I got a new computer (just so I could play the game) on the bright side, the game itself is full of bugs, one of which turns allll the humans into vampires, so you go to drain some hobo or guy reliveing himself in a dark alley, and find yourself unable to feed from them, n when they turn around, they have the yellow eyes and fangs (and turn to dust when you kill them) but never actually fight. ANother bug gives everyone in the game 1 mile long nipples, I kid you not.
Yeah, I love how they made the most powerful clan the most insane, with different levels and kinds of insane (such as the first npx vampire you meet properly who gives you quests. you get quests from her and her sister, then later on walk in on them argueing to see 1 vampire girl looking like twoface (split personality, one of the best plot twists) n get to choose which ones survives (or both).
The malkavians kind of remind me of the guy in Interview with a vampire. the one Louie meets under the bridge that can copy him exactly, walk up walls and move super fast, but is still obviously insane. (I was really cut up about it when he died.......sorry for the pun)
Yes, I too would like to state that White Wolf Games are just a game, any in game rules and history should just be taken as game info. Also, I'd advise against going into a hospital and giving dieing people your blood and telling them "you've just drank the elixer of life, my blood", or picking fights with drug dealers armed only with your trust tire iron and 2 packs of blood from the creepy guy in the hospital basement. (and for gods sake, do not go into crack houses and engage in the eradication of zombie infestations, leave that to the FVZA ^^'...infact just don't go into crack houses)
Although I love The book of Nod's take on the Cain and Abel story from the bible (especially since my first vampire computer game was Soule Reaver: Legacy of Kain). And of course, there could be one or two parts of the book that are true, probabbly only by sheer luck.
By the way, any idea if they ever printed a full book of nod? all I had in my vampire masqurede book was an extract.

Those are some pretty weird bugs there. LOL! I never did join an actual White Wolf RPGing group or anything, but Amanda & I, along with some of our friends, used to do our fair share of creating our own White Wolf characters & acting out storylines.
I'm not sure if White Wolf ever published a full version of the "Book of Nod", though I believe that I did hear of it many years ago.
