Hello everyone. I am proud to say that I have finally figured out how to cross stitch! ;D I had tried it out a couple of times before, but always ended up with a bird's nest on the back of my work. I also could never quite figure out how to work a row of cross stitches. Well a co-worker recently enlightened me to the fact that I could do "single cross stitch". I had never heard of this before. She explained to me that it is usually used for the smaller details on the work, however there was nothing stopping me from creating the entire work with the same process. So now I am almost done with my first piece of cross stitchery (Is that even a word? LOL!) It is a small purple butterfly. Very quaint & simple, but I'm still proud. ;D Sincerely, Laurasia

My mom loves to cross stich. she tried to show me how to do it once, but it went over rather horrible. I'll stick to my pencils, thanks.

I'll stick to my pencils, thanks. Hello Korvus. You draw? That's great. I could never get that hang of it. My girlfriend is an absolutely wonderful artist though. LOL! I would love to see some of your work. Would you mind putting some of it on the forum? (That is if you have the proper computer equipment to do that. I don't have any of that fancy equipment, so I know how it can be. LOL!) Sincerely, Laurasia

Laurasia, Having seen the end result of this project, you have indeed improved splendidly. I would never have a prayer at cross-stitching...I have a very hard time threading a needle. I prefer rughooking(latchhooking). My mom showed me how to do it. I successfully hooked a white tiger for my dad. I currently have two projects under way that I have been neglecting for far too long.

Hi Brandybuck. Well thank you for that compliment. My niece, Chelsey, certainly enjoyed that butterfly cross-stitch as well. I have an Indian/Wolf-themed one started, but I have been neglecting it much like you have your latchhooking. Perhaps we should set some time aside on our day off & work on them while listening to some music. Sincerely, Laurasia

Sounds good to me, love. Gee, is this what they call "internet-dating"? Sincerely, Laurasia

I think so! I won't call it internet dating..how about an "appointment" made by use of the internet? Does that sound less intriguing?

Last summer I bought a set of kitchen hand towel and cloth. As it was going to be a wedding gift, I decided to put some effort to it, and I cross stitched a pattern. Then I crocheted around the hand towel and around the cloth. It went well. My friend enjoyed it.
