I just recycled the base of a small fibre optic Christmas tree into a lamp.I took the tree part out and stacked all my large rose quartz crystals around it and then put the clear quartz points facing upwards in the middle with some amethyst filling in the gaps. The changing colour of the light looks magical shining through and its much softer than a bright light bulb hanging overhead. Heres a photo of what it looks like. img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lampqh3.jpg

Thanks. I still haven't taken the white fairy lights down from Christmas so I'm looking for a twisty/wriggly small hawthorn branch to wind them around and see how that looks plugged in. I'll take pics if it works out all right.
