Hey I thought it would be interesting to have a thread and share info we all have on spirit guides. Animal, angel, relative, Kundalini energy...ect. I found something on kundalini and different animals...for now i'd just like to share the info on Kundalini...i'm still searching so feel free to ask any questions and i'll try to answer. "Kundalini is a Sanskrit word meaning either "coiled up" or "coiling like a snake." There are a number of other translations of the term usually emphasizing a more serpent nature to the word - e.g. 'serpent power'. The caduceus symbol of coiling snakes is thought to be an ancient symbolic representation of Kundalini physiology. The concept of Kundalini comes from yogic philosophy of ancient India and refers to the mothering intelligence behind yogic awakening and spiritual maturation. It might be regarded by yogis as a sort of deity, hence the occasional capitalization of the term. Within a western frame of understanding it is often associated with the practice of contemplative or religious practices that might induce an altered state of consciousness, either brought about spontaneously, through a type of yoga, through psychedelic drugs, or through a near-death experience. According to the yogic tradition Kundalini is curled up in the back part of the root chakra in three and one-half turns around the sacrum. Yogic phenomenology states that kundalini awakening is associated with the appearance of bio-energetic phenomena that are said to be experienced somatically by the yogi. This appearance is also referred to as "pranic awakening". Prana is interpreted as the vital, life-sustaining force in the body. Uplifted, or intensified life-energy is called pranotthana and is supposed to originate from an apparent reservoir of subtle bio-energy at the base of the spine. This energy is also interpreted as a vibrational phenomena that initiates a period, or a process of vibrational spiritual development." - www.crystalinks.com/kundalini.html

Hello lovemeorhateme. I have an animal spirit guide. Of course being Native American might have something to do with it. I had help finding mine by my great grandmother. I had always been fascinated by wolves. I guess she thought it was more than a love for them, told me some things to do, and told me to report what I saw, felt, heard, what have you, back to her. Sure enough... mine's a wolf. Though I can't remember exactally the things she told me to do, I can ask her if you'd like.

Thank you for putting this up Lovemeorhateme. It's a topic that has interested me for sometime now. I also have spirit guides of a kind, though which kind I'm not really sure about. LOL! Some ancestral, some otherwise is what I'm thinking. Sincerely, Laurasia

NP guys... :-D glad you like it...Stitch yea if you don't care to please ask her i'd love to know how she had you find it. I'll post up some animal guides and the characteristics (this may help you some Laurasia)... My spirit guide is a panther. Black Panther to be exact...I was told by my mother and a close friend how to find mine. This also helped another friend of mine, Carmen, find hers. I was told to light a pure candle of a color that was calling out to me that night and light it...sit indian style in the floor and gaze into the flame while clearing my mind then ask for help from those spirits around me to help me find my guide and lead me to it. Close my eyes and just concentrate on the search and when i come out of it to write down what i saw, heard, felt...ect. This may not work for everyone but it did for me...maybe someone can try it and let me know how it works for them... ~Kyle~

Interesting method Lovemeorhateme. I'll have to try it sometime & see what may or may not happen. Besides my ancestral guides I have one that is rather strange, as I'm not sure what he is. Yes, I know that he is male. LOL! Exactly what he is though is a different matter. And thank you for putting up the extra information on individual guides as well. Sincerely, Laurasia

lovemeorhateme, I am really enjoying this thread that you have put up. I find it to be very informative, since many people are searching for their spirit guides. In regards to the info on the kundalini energy that you posted, I have had an interest and love for kundalini ever since I had a reading/class three years ago at a psychic fair. I love the history associated with the practice, and of course the healing that it brings.

Brandybuck,
lol oddly enough the only reason i even know the word kundalini is because i was reading on guides and entities on a page and it was mentioned so naturally being a curious creature on this earth I had to look and see what it was. I also ran across it while studying charkras. I guess from here I'll move on to canine guides then to water guides, then on to air, reptiles, and then insect. Yet I'm confused as to what catagory a skunk goes into...i guess i'll just have an unknown group for the animals that i don't know where they belong... ^.^
If anyone has a request on a particular type of guide I'd be glad to research it for you and make a post...I'm just glad others share my interest ^.~

Going along with the meditation process lovemeorhateme explained, don't "wish" you had a particular animal, it's kind of essential that you have a clear mind. Don't disown it after you find out if it's "not the spirit guide you wanted or liked" and so on. I've also been told to decorate your alter with different things to represent different animals in the beginning. As your thoughts narrow down to certain animals, start taking the representations of the other animals away. Once you find your spirit guide, it's nice to have a decorated alter of your spirit guide out of respect. (of course that's just my opinion not a stated fact)

Stitch that's very true about wishing and not disowning, that's a good thing to point out. Thank you. The use of the alter as a way of finding your guide i haven't heard before...it's interesting. If i didn't already know mine i would try it. However i do understand people wanting to disown, even though they shouldn't, when they end up having a dungbeetle or a skunk as their guide. LOL ^.~ no disrespect to those ppl who have them mind you but i do find it slightly funny.

Well, I was trying to help my now ex find hers... she wanted a dolphin so bad, she never cleared so we never found it. Just using the representations doesn't actually help you find it, for me it was just a way of getting my mind in the right place once it was clear... yeah I have ADD, can't just sit there and focus on one thing without my mind wondering.
I have a comment as far as the dungbettle guide, I'll PM it to you to be safe, and anyone else who asks.

This may sound like an odd request Lovemeorhateme, but do you have anything regarding vampiric or elvish spirit guides?
Sincerely, Laurasia
