LAURASIA'S VIKING? PAST-LIFE RECOLLECTION
*NOTE* I am not sure about what ethnicity I was. I believe that I was either Saxon, Gaul, Viking, etc. These assumptions are based on my recollections of dress, armor, fighting style, etc. *
I was a male warrior. We wore fur, leather & metal. I was in a battle. I believe that this war was with the ancient Romans, because of an unfounded dislike that I have for them in this life. We marched in lines, singing loudly as we went; so as to further frighten our enemies.
I was pierced by a spear through the stomach. It was a fatal wound, but would have killed me slowly. However, because of the spear protruding through my abdomen, I was unable to get up & fight. One of my fellow fighters came over with a double-headed battle axe & spoke his goodbyes & well-wishes for the after-life. He then decaptitated me so I would not have to suffer. I did not fear this, but welcomed it.
*I am still doing research on ancient Roman wars to try & find more information that corresponds to my recollections. I also am beginning to think that this may be a case of "ancestor-reincarnation". I have been following my family tree & have found that almost all of my ancestors have fought with the Romans. (Roman Catholic Church after the empire itself fell.) I also found out that the root-version of my families last name is a modern version of an ancient Gaulish name. So, maybe I am the reincarnation of a Gaulish ancestor. Who knows. I'm still researching all of it.*

Hi Theodora. I had completely forgotten that I had put this recollection up here! Update! Yes, I have an update on this recollection. (I still can't believe that I forgot about this thread being here!) Anyway, I now realize the reason why I was having such trouble nailing this recollection to a certain fight with the Romans...I wasn't fighting Romans. Through further workings on this past-life I've come to the realization that we were fighting Haradrim. This life was one of Rohan. I'm not positive yet about which battle I died during; but I believe that it was either the Battle of the Crossings of Poros or the Battle of the Field of Celebrant. I now see why I was confused as to the ethnicity of this recollection. As a man of Rohan, my life was rather strikingly similar to that of Vikings, Saxons, etc. And, yes, this life was before my life in Gondor. Sincerely, Laurasia

Hi guys. Very funny Brandybuck. It was mainly the colors, Artanaro. All of that RED! LOL! I just assumed that since the life that I was remembering seemed..."Northern"...& we were fighting men in red wearing a lot of red, that it must have been the Romans. Considering that the Romans fought so much with Northern/Teutonic peoples. I was actually studying about the history of Gondor, trying to gain some insight into my life in Gondor, when the feelings just washed over me. That is why I am inclined to believe that the fight I died in was the Battle of the Field of Celebrant & not the other. That was the battle I was researching when the feelings hit me. Though Tolkien does not specify that the Haradrim took part in the battle. He could be mistaken. Then again it could have been the Battle of the Crossings of Poros, which the Haradrim were very active in. Remembering all of these details is a gift & a curse basically, Theodora. While it does make recollecting easier, it makes it more real, more encompassing, more painful. Sincerely, Laurasia
