The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 11, 2006, 4:06am

From the outside, it is a run-down manor. There is a massive gargoyle statue on either side of the dilapitated fence. Where once, there was a splendid garden in the front..now there was only dead trees and tall grass. The house itself is an impressive two stories high, and it stretches far from left to right. The magnificence of the place is obscured by the broken shutters, the peeling paint, and the garbage that litters the yard.

Considering that there is a Muggle village nearby, all precautions must be kept. If a Muggle happens to stray to close to the house itself, they will suddenly find themselves very ill, or forgetful of why they had come. Regardless of what the Muggle experiences, they are forced to retreat by the powerful magic that guards the house. A Muggle could walk as far as where the broken stone path begins..then the magic takes effect.
________________

Upon entering the manor, one finds a complete opposite in appearance. Instead of a seemingly despairing empty shell, you are transported into a glamorous entrance hall. There is a 2 ton candle chandelier that hangs overhead. The furniture throughout the house is made of the best cedar and redwood in the Wizarding world. The staircases are pure marble. There are ivory statues dating from the Renaissance period throughout the main floor. Though not as luxurious as Malfoy Manor, it is still a very appropriate setting for the upper class of the Wizarding world to attend. This first floor holds the entrance hall, the living roomthe dining room, the kitchen, 3 large bathrooms, a parlor, the study, the library, and various walk in closets.

Upstairs are where the bedrooms are located..totalling eight in all. One for the mistress and manor of the house, which is a very large suite with private bathroom. One for their son, which is also quite large with it's own bathroom. The remaining six are guestrooms of various sizes. It would depend on the social status of the guest that would deem what size room they would be staying in.

To enter the estate, it is usually proper for visitors (witches and wizards only!) to use the front door. Knocek and wait to be admitted. Close friends of the family may from time to time be permitted to use the large floo that is in the living room. Family members use the floo or Apparate.

It was into the living room that Vincent apparated. He startled his wife Isabella, for she gave a small yelp when he arrived. He laughed and walked over and kissed her. "Sweetie, have the house elves fix up our best guestroom! He have a very special guest arriving shortly." He could not keep the smile off of his face. Imagine..the Dark Lord would be staying with them rather than at Malfoy Manor. It was almost too funny.

Isabella looked at him quizzically. "What special guest? "
Vincent took her by the shoulders. "The Dark Lord himself." She looked stunned, which was understandable. "I know..I can hardly believe it myself, but it is true. I offered to let him stay here until he regains full strength and power, and he accepted!"

A smile was forming on Isabella's face as he relayed the story. "Truly!? You are not jesting?"

"No I am not jesting. Now hurry..tell the house elves to be quick about it. I am not sure as to when they will arrive."Vincent explained.

"They," she asked.

"Oh I forgot." Vincent's eyes became darker for a moment. "Peter Pettigrew..little worm that he is, will have to stay with us as well. I know that he possesses few uses, but our Master still has need of him. Therefore, I informed him that he could stay in the basement. Not luxurious down there by any means, but it is quite comfortable."

Isabella's face scrunched up in a scowl. "Pettigrew, eh?" She sighed. "Oh well, small price to pay when all is considered. The Dark Lord is staying with us after all." She smacked her hands once, and a house elf instantly appeared at her side. "Yes mistress?" the shaking creature asked.

"Prepare the master guest suite on the second floor! And make sure that there are plenty of towels next to the sauna in the bathroom attached to the suite!" She narrowed her eyes at the quivering elf. "Everything had BETTER be perfect..or else."

Moments later there was a loud popping sound as Voldemort apparated into the room with Pettigrew close behind him. Without a moments hesitation or uttering a single word the Dark Lord seemed to float across the room & took Isabella's hand in his. He closed his eyes & gently placed a kiss on the back of her hand. "Isabella. Still lovely I see."

He stood upright once more & took in his surroundings cooly. Focusing his attention on Vincent he smiled. "Vincent. Thank you again for having me. I'm sorry that I came so shortly, but I was no longer able to sleep in that house."

Vincent jumped, and Isabella shrieked as a loud popping noise was heard. Vincent was happy to see that it was the Dark Lord, as well as the miserable rat trailing behind him. He watched as the Dark Lord kissed his wife's hand..Isabella blushed at the compliment and bowed. Remembering his manners, Vincent bowed as well.

"Welcome my Lord." He waved his hand and a bottle of firewhiskey flew onto the table next to him. Taking four goblets, he poured each of them a glass. He handed the Dark Lord his with most reverence. "My Lord, please be seated." He handed Pettigrew his glass while snarling. "Don't drink it all at once."

Voldemort laughed quite abruptly at Vincent's sudden change in demeanor when addressing Peter. He took the glass & sat in one smooth movement. Pettigrew on the other hand had made no move to sit & was instead eyeing Vincent angrily. "Sit," Voldemort said shortly. Suddenly Peter became aware of his surroundings once more & scurried to sit at his masters' feet.

Rolling his eyes & sighing slightly Voldemort stared for a moment at the back of his head. "Not on the floor Peter. Sit in a chair." The little man quickly got up with some apologetic mumblings & sat in the chair nearest to Voldemort.

Vincent could not hold it in. When he saw the rat sit on the floor at Voldemort's feet, he spat his firewhiskey on the floor. His wife glared at him. He smiled.

"Honey, I will get it." He pointed his wand at the floor. "Scourgify!"

He looked to Voldemort. "Excuse my manners, my Lord. I just found that terribly amusing. Would you like something to eat?"

Voldemort smiled darkly. "Yes, Vincent that would be very nice. What's on the menu tonight?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 17, 2006, 4:29pm

Vincent knew that his response would impress the Dark Lord.

"Prime rib..with many side dishes of course." He smiled. "Of course, if you would prefer something different, it can be arranged." Knowing full well that the Dark Lord tended to favor ribs..he knew that he would not want anything else. He hoped that Voldemort did not get angry at his teasing.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 17, 2006, 10:10pm

Voldemort chuckled sharply. "No, no. no need for that. Prime rib sounds wonderful. It's been some time since I've been able to...appreciate certain tastes fully. I look forward to getting reacquainted with such sensations & simple pleasures." He rose, & with a flick of his wand, caused Pettigrew to rise as well.

Vincent nodded, and ordered the house elves to begin preparing the meal.

He refilled the Dark Lord's firewhiskey, while laughing as Pettigrew was forced to stand.

"This will not take long my Lord. Let us go sit in the dining room and begin the first course."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 18, 2006, 4:27pm

Voldemort nodded as Vincent refilled his drink & suggested that they move into the dining room. "Very good. Peter...try to keep up & don't linger," he remarked with a sneer. The man was more rat-like than even most people realized & the Dark Lord did not think that thievery was above him.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 19, 2006, 3:45pm

As they entered the dining room, he looked to the house elf. "Show our Lord where his seat is." The elf took that as a cue to pull the chair out for Voldemort, which happened to be at the head of the table, as well for making a glass of red wine appear before him.

After they were all seated, the first course appeared on the table. There were many variety's of salads, soups and other appetizers. He realized that Peter was reaching for food without using the proper food tongs to do so. "Pettigrew, please use proper dining manners..if you don't mind!" He glared at him. "In this house, we do not place our hands all over the food while it is still in the serving dishes. Onced it is on your own plate, I do not care how you eat it."

Realizing that he had made a scene in front of the Dark Lord, he looked to him apologetically. "I am sorry my Lord..pet peeve."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 19, 2006, 7:40pm

Voldemort let himself be taken to the head of the table by the house elf & sat down silently. As he was helping himself to some salad he also noticed Pettigrews' manners. He was just about to speak up when Vincent beat him to it.

Waving his hand to Vincent dismissively, he handed his wand to Peter. "Here, use this if you must. But be careful. Afterall my wand is a vastly more powerful tool than you are accustomed to working with."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 20, 2006, 3:17pm

Vincent smirked and glanced to his wife. Isabella was biting the sides of her cheeks to keep from laughing. Clearly, she thought that any outburst on her part would be completely inappropriate in front of such a distinguished guest as the Dark Lord.

Vincent watched warily as Pettigrew handled Voldemort's wand. He seemed to be in love with it the way he carressed it.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 20, 2006, 7:50pm

Voldemort looked on ever impatiently as Peter fondled his wand admiringly. "Well, Peter? Have your forgotten how to use it? Get the food on your plate & be done with it," he virtually hissed.

Startled, Peter Accio'd a helping of salad to his plate & placed the wand upon his lap. Raising an eyebrow, Voldemort held out his hand expectantly. "That's not the proper placefor my wand now is it? Hand it to me."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 20, 2006, 8:54pm

Vincent watched with great amusement as Voldemort embarrassed Pettigrew immensely. Isabella, meanwhile, had lost her ability to hold in her laughter. A high-pitched giggle escaped from her lips as she stared at the depraved Pettigrew with glee.

He turned his attention once again to his Lord. "My Lord, I am sorry that my son could not have been here tonight. He is at school, and not expected home for break for another three days. However, he is trying to convince me to let him stay at Malfoy Manor. Of course, Draco will be going home to The Palace for his break."

He had tried, but failed to keep the sarcasm out of his voice. He gave the Dark Lord a nervous glance, hoping that he hadn't overstepped his boundaries. He had not thought that Voldemort may still find Lucius useful.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 21, 2006, 5:20pm

Voldemort glowered as Pettigrew put his wand back into his hand without making eye contact. He placed the wand back into his robes & began to eat some salad as he listened to Vincent.

"Oh no, that's fine Vincent." His eyebrows rose as he heard the mention of Draco & the Malfoys'. "I think that I would like to spend some time with little Vincent & Draco. Perhaps Lucius would see fit to let Draco stay here instead?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 21, 2006, 6:23pm

Vincent was stunned by his lord's response. "What am I to tell my son and Draco my Lord? Should I tell them nothing..perhaps introduce you as a old family friend?" He thought that he must sound very stupid and juvenile, but Voldemort had really disarmed him with that statement. "Of course, I will send an owl to the Malfoy Estate immediately."

He picked up a piece of parchment as he whistled for his owl. He looked back up to Voldemort. "One more thing my Lord. What exactly should I tell Lucius? Should I tell him that you are here? I am afraid that if I do that, he will make some excuse as to why Draco cannot stay here."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 22, 2006, 3:53pm

Voldemort eyed Vincent for a moment. "Is that so now? And why should he wish to keep me from his son? Though I can't say that I'm surprised by such a statement, given his recent...movements." He drank deeply from his glass & pondered the question for a moment.

"Tell Lucius that I am staying with you & your wife. Tell him that I ask for your son & his come to stay here as well so I may become acquainted with them." He gave him a knowing smile. "Besides, if he tries to keep his son from me I can also get ahold of him via other means."

Vincent felt his breath catch in his throat for a moment. No! I will not falter!he thought to himself.

Picking up the quill, he penned the following:

Quote:

Lucius,

I have sent this owl to inform you that there needs to be a change of plans. Isabella and I have a most "distinguished" house guest. He arrived this evening and will be staying until further notice. I am aware that Draco and Vincent were to stay at the Manor over the break. However, our guest..who happens to be the very man that we swore allegaince to...wishes to meet the children.

It is my understanding that his want to see them is "great." Therefore, I would advise you to not cause a scene..but rather to send an owl to Draco at school letting him know to come here instead of to his home. I will send one to my son as well to let him know of the change.

Considering that the mail is being watched, I do not think that I need to tell you to use caution in your messages. I would hate for our Lord to get rediscovered due to some inadequacies.

Your friend,

Vincent

He sealed the parchment, and tied it to the owls leg. "take this to Malfoy Manor with all haste".

Voldemort watched as Vincent sent his letter to Lucius. "Nice touch, telling him not to cause a scene, Vincent." He watched as the man realized that he had used Legilimens on him while he was penning the letter.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 23, 2006, 7:08pm

Vincent looked to the Dark Lord in surprise. Then, it hit him that he had used Legilimens.

"My Lord, I found it wise to tell him so..considering his past. Also, I omitted your name in the fear that the letter could fall into wrong hands. Lucius is not stupid, however. He will know very well who my "house guest" is.

He laughed in spite of himself. "I can just see how angry he will be when he realizes that you are staying with me, and not at Malfoy Manor."

****************

After about three hours, Vincent saw Lucius Malfoy's eagle owl fly into one of the open windows. It dropped a letter into Vincent's outstretched hand. He gave the owl a treat, and watched it fly away.

He opened the sealed parchment, and read its contents aloud so Voldemort could hear him.

Quote:
Vincent,

I have just received your letter. It is good to hear from you again. However, I think that all of your "preaching" to me is unnecessary. I am perfectly aware and capable of keeping a low profile when it comes to such delicate matters.

You may inform your house guest that Narcissa and I are flattered that he would wish to have our son visit over the break. Of course, I will send a letter to Draco at school and inform him of the change.

Give my regards to your house guest.

Sincerely,
Lucius Malfoy

He smiled and looked up to his master. "Well, he has not lost his common sense I see. He was smart enough to comply with your request."

Voldemort had been reclining & enjoying an after-dinner drink with the others when he also noticed the eagle owl fly into the room. "Quick...good," he said in a low voice. He listened & smiled as Vincent read the letter.

"Ah, good old Lucius. He just wouldn't be him without the snottiness now would he? Of course he obliged. It's not as though he has a choice, & I'm sure that he is aware of that fact," he said in a cold voice.

Vincent could not help but feel excited jubilation at seeing Voldemort show his distaste for Lucius. It was what he deserved after all..he ran, and tried to take me down with him.

"Yes my Lord..I agree with you completely. Lucius would not be Lucius without the attitude."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 26, 2006, 8:04pm

Staring deep into the blood redness of his firewhiskey, Voldemort smirked evilly. "Perhaps we should have Lucius himself over for a visit sometime duringthe break as well?" He looked up at Vincent , eyebrows slightly raised.

Vincent could not help but burst out laughing. "That would be a sight my Lord. Let the butt kissing begin."

Pettigrew looked up quickly with an axious smile as Voldemort began to laugh heartily. "I think that we'll have to do that, Vincent. I'd like to see just how much he feels that he needs to squirm in front of me. Why he would ever feel the need is beyond me. He, is afterall, one of my most loyal followers, isn't he?" He began to laugh once more & drank deeply from his glass.
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Vincent released a low grunt..loyal follower..yeah right.. he thought. Noticing that Voldemort had looked up he stammered.

"Yes, he is supposedly still loyal."

*********OOC: time for break *laughs*

~Draco~

Having come from the Hog's Head, Draco came down the floo in the living room. Stepping out of the floo, and dusting himself off, he looked around. Not seeing anyone, he decided to sit down on one of the sofas and wait.

There was a noise as Crabbe arrived behind him. He stepped out and dusted himself off as well. Draco watched as Crabbe missed dirt on his sleeves. He smacked his lips. "Crabbe, go tell your parents or whatever that we are here." As Crabbe ran off, Draco began to snoop through the book on the coffee table. "Modern Muggle Hunting Techniques". Draco smiled with approval and waited for Crabbe to return with someone.

Voldemort was about to say something to Vincent when he heard the floo in the living room. "I don;t think that we're alone anymore Vincent. Expecting company?" he asked, while pulling out his wand.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 31, 2006, 1:36pm

Vincent looked up at Voldemort. "Yes my Lord..that would be the Malfoy boy and my son."

Just as he said this, his son entered the room. "Father, we are here."

Vincent embraced his son, then looked to the Dark Lord. "I would like to present my son, Vincent Jr." Whispering to his son." Be polite and go shake his hand."

He could tell that his son was very nervous. Most everyone was around Voldemort..his power was just that intense. Vincent Jr. slowly approached Voldemort, and shook his hand.

"Pleasure to meet you sir." In his mind Vincent Jr. was wondering which of his father's friends this was.he did not remember him.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Jan 31, 2006, 5:53pm

Upon hearing Vincent say that it was only the two young boys Voldemort put his wand away. He noticed when the younger Vincent came into the room that he was very much his father's son. Though he did not recognize a familiarity between Vincent Jr & his father, but Vincent Jr & his grandfather. Both seemed to be rather stout & hearty characters. As the young man approached & made his introduction the Dark Lord smiled. He took the boys hand into his & pondered about which name he should offer to the boy? Smiling he said cooly, "Very nice to meet you Vincent. I am Lord Voldemort."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Jan 31, 2006, 8:26pm

Vincent Sr. eyed his son carefully to gauge his reaction. He saw that the younger boy turned pale and almost fainted at Voldemort's feet. Vincent stepped forward, and put his hands on his son's shoulders.

"Please excuse him, my Lord. He was not expecting that introduction. The shock will wear off soon ." He guided the boy towards the living room. "If you wish, my Lord, I will introduce you to Lucius's son now."
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Voldemort watched the boy & couldn't help but smirk when he nearly fainted. When his father stepped forward to excuse him Voldemort simply shook his head. "Perfectly alright, Vincent. I understand completely." He looked over Vincents' shoulder to the other boy. "Yes, I would like to meet the young Malfoy boy very much."

"Very well my Lord. Follow me."

Vincent led the way into the living room where he saw Draco waiting impatiently. Upon their arrival, he saw Draco rise. He approached Draco and shook his hand.

"Hello Draco. It has been awhile. I have a house guest who would like to make your acquaintance."

Vincent then looked to the Dark Lord, waiting for him to commence with the introductions.

~Draco~

After getting somewhat impatient at being made to wait, he heard footsteps approaching from the other room. He looked up and saw Vincent Sr. and another man enter the room. Where was Crabbe? he thought, while straining his neck to see.

For some reason, he could not keep his eyes from the mysterious man. He certainly had a prescence about him that was strong. He stood up and shook Vincent Sr's hand.

He then waited for the man to introduce himself.

Voldemort came into the room & noted the familar Malfoy impatience within the boy. He watched as Vincent welcomed him to the house & then stepped aside so he could introduce himself.

He approached Draco slowly & held his hand out to him. "Of course you are Draco Malfoy. Your father couldn't deny you if he wanted to. It's nice to finally meet you. I am Lord Voldemort."

Draco froze in shock as he shook the man's hand.

Lord Voldemort? Is that what he said??

He felt excitement as well as fear within his body. He smiled and vowed to keep his manners. he wanted to make a great, lasting impression on the Dark Lord after all. He wanted to be revered like his father was.

"It is a pleasure to meet you my Lord."
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Draco smiled at the compliment from the Dark Lord.

"Of course, my Lord." He stayed very close to Voldemort as they entered the living room. He noticed that Crabbe's dad was talking to his wife in the kitchen. They both looked very pleased with themselves.

He turned to see Crabbe, ashen faced, sitting on one of the sofas. "What's your problem Crabbe?"

Draco smirked and poured the Dark Lord a firewhiskey. "Here you are my Lord."

Voldemort nodded & smirked at the Malfoy boy. "Why thank you draco. I do believe that the Crabbe's employ house elves for such things though." He took a deep drink from his glass & sat back.

Draco reddened slightly at the comment.

"Yes, but if there house elves are anything like ours, they tend to be..slow. I would hate to have to punish a house elf that isn't mine."

He stumbled through the excuse, while really thinking..I actually wanted to get it for you, but I will never admit it.
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Voldemort smiled & patted young Draco on the shoulder. "I understand, thank you. Why don't you get one for yourself as well?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Feb 13, 2006, 3:32pm

Draco was a little taken aback by the suggestion.

"My Lord, my father doesn't really permit me to drink firewhiskey." He felt the rebellious streak within him win out. He had been seeing more and more of that rebelliousness within himself recently.

"However, I feel that I am old enough, so thank you my Lord. I will indeed have one." He poured himself a firewhiskey, and took a sip. Immediately, his mouth was on fire. He knew that his face must be very red, but he would NOT spit it out. That would be most embarassing. Forcing a smile through the grimace, he swallowed with a loud gulping sound.

"That was good.."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Feb 14, 2006, 3:33pm

Voldemort couldn't help but chuckle as he saw Draco's expression upon tasting the firewhiskey. It was obvious that Draco had no intention of making his discomfort known though.

He leaned forward & took the glass from Draco's hand. "Well now, let us see if we can't break you in easily. Firewhiskey didn;t get its name from being a mild drink afterall." He poured the rest of Draco's friewhiskey into his own glass & tossed the empty glass at one of the house elves. "Make him a Chocolate he**."

He turned back towards Draco & smiled kindly. The expression, though sincere, seemed to fit rather oddly upon his face. Perhaps it was due to the fact that such expression weren't usually genuine nowadays. "Don't worry Draco my boy, a Chocolate he** should go down much easier for you. Though it does have firewhiskey in it, it's a mixed drink which - as the name implies- has chocolate in it as well. A very good drink when you want something a bit tamer."

He ran his finger over the boys' cheek & sat back in his chair once more. "So Draco, Vincent, how is Hogwarts these days?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Feb 14, 2006, 6:49pm

Draco watched in astonishment as the Dark Lord went through the trouble of getting him a different drink. He could not help but smile when he employed the house elf to actually make the drink, but he still provided it nonetheless.

"Thank you my Lord. I must admit that the drink was a little strong. A chocolate he** sounds delicious." Just then, the Dark Lord ran a finger over his cheek before sitting. Draco felt his face redden and his pride swell at the obvious attention that he was getting. Yes, I am just like my father.

"Hogwarts, sir, is pathetic for the most part. Dumbledore is the worst problem..along with Potter of course. There are so many do-gooders at that school that it is sickening. I think that Professor Snape is the only positive thing about Hogwarts."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Feb 15, 2006, 2:44pm

"Indeed," Voldemort said cooly as Draco named everything that was wrong with the school. "You keep close to Professor Snape. He may just end up being your best ally, should you ever have need of one."

Just then the house elf appeared with a large steaming mug & raised it up towards the Dark Lord. Voldemort glanced down & raised his own glass of firewhiskey with a raise of his eyebrows. "Did I not say that it was for young Master Malfoy, elf? I already have a drink." the elf gave a short peep in surprise & lowered its' head before taking the glass over to Draco. "Here you are Master Malfoy."

Voldemort watched to see the boys reaction to this much sweeter drink. "Careful not to burn your lips, it may be quite hot." He took another sip of his firewhiskey & then pushed the glass towards Pettigrew. "Get me a Toxic Shock instead, Peter."

Peter had been drowsing in his chair, completely uninterested in his Lords' conversation with the children, when he suddenly heard Voldemort say his name. He snapped to attention & looked bewildered for a moment. "My Lord?"

Voldemort narrowed his eyes at the man. "A Toxic Shock, Peter. You do remember what it is don't you? Or has your time as a household pet at away your brain cells?" Peter clambered out of his seat & took the whiskey glass, bowing low as he left the room. "Yes, Master. A Toxic Shock...It won't take me long at all."

Voldemort turned his attention back to Draco with a sigh. "Anyway, what have they taught you in regards to Defense Against the Dark Arts?" He smirked slightly as he asked this, remembering an instance from his younger days with Dumbledore.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Feb 15, 2006, 4:23pm

Draco listened closely as Voldemort advised him to keep close to Professor Snape.

As he tried the chocolate hell, he realized that it was one of the best tasting drinks that he had ever had. Smiling approvingly to the Dark Lord, he said. "This is very good sir. Thank you for recommending it." He continued to drink, relishing the taste. Suddenly, he heard Voldemort verbally attack Pettigrew. The ferociousness of the attack, coupled with what he said to him, was so funny that Draco spit his drink out...right onto the Dark Lord's robes. Slightly embarraseed, but still smiling nonetheless, he pointed his wand at the robe.

"SCOURGIFY!" Instantly, his robes were clean. "Sorry about that my Lord. It was very clumsy of me."

Draco heard the Dark Lord ask about his DADA classes. He narrowed his eyes. "Well, maybe if we had one steady teacher who was worthy of the position, we might be learning something. As it is, no one has kept the position, and those that have taught us were not very good. I wish Professor Snape would take the class over..he knows how and WHAT to teach."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Feb 16, 2006, 6:57pm

Voldemort suddenly found himself showered in Draco's Chocolate he**. His face screwed up in shock before Draco was able to use Scourgify on his robes. He pulled out his wand & was about to punish the boy when he caught himself. Sighing deeply & slowly, he replaced his wand into his robes & closed his eyes for a moment. "Thank you for cleaning the mess Draco. I do hope that the next time you have the urge to spit...you will turn your head from my direction."

He listened to Draco explain about the Defense-professor situation at the school & found that he was now smiling. "Good. Good. As for your instruction...I'm sure that something can be arranged. Professor Snape, yes he could teach you a thing or two. I could teach you some things as well," he said with a smirk. "We'll have to see how things go though."

He looked towards the doorway, obviously annoyed that Pettigrew had not yet returned with his drink.

Draco froze in fear as he saw the Dark Lord reach for his wand..and then quickly change his mind. He listened with shame as the Dark Lord, obviously annoyed, basically told him off. Merlin's beard, he sounds just like my father!. He somehow managed to keep the scowl off his face.

As he listened to the Dark Lord talk about possible private Dark Arts lessons, Draco felt himself relax. He found himself thinking about how flippant Voldemort's moods were. He had heard his father speak of it of course..well, eavesdropped was more like it...but Draco had to admit that the frequent mood changes were frightening.

His voice was slightly high-pitched as he answered Voldemort. "I would appreciate that very much My Lord." He was on the verge of tears and he hated it.

~Vincent Sr.~

Vincent watched the exchange between Voldemort and Lucius's son with amusement. He hid a smile behind his hand when Draco spit all over the Dark Lord. Seeing Draco squirm was almost as fun as seeing Lucius squirm. He knew that he shouldn't take out his annoyance for Lucius Malfoy on Draco..but for some reason it gave him pleasure to do so.

As Pettigrew passed him to deliver the drink, he suddenly remembered his own son. He turned with a sharp eye to Vincent Jr. "Why did you just stand there? Draco is freely conversing with the Dark Lord. The least you could do is sit in the same room as him." He watched with aggravation as his son sat on the sofa furthest from Voldemort. He sighed deeply. he acts exactly like I used to..wimpy and powerless! he thought to himself.

Voldemort looked up with daggers in his eyes as Pettigrew finally came in with his drink. He snatched the glass from his hand & barked, "It's about time Peter, now sit down." He took a long drink from the glass & sighed contently.

He noticed Vincent Jr come into the room & seat himself on the far side of the room. He raised an eyebrow quizzically. "Vincent? Why don't you come sit with us? I won't bite," he said with a chuckle.

Draco saw the fear on Crabbe's face as the Dark Lord addressed him. Thankful that Voldemort's attention was off of him for at least a moment, he saw Crabbe slowly get up and cross to a closer chair. He managed to smile weakly.

"Sor-r-y. I-I- did not want to interrupt you and Draco talking."

Draco could see that Crabbe was visible shaking. He could also see that Crabbe's father looked furious. He narrowed his eyes. Were ALL fathers the same?

Voldemort smiled as Crabbe came closer. He noticed that the boy was physically trembling. Looking over at Pettigrew suddenly, he ordered him out of the chair that was next to himself. "Come here Vincent, sit by me." As the boy took the seat, Voldemort put his arm over his shoulder & leaned in closer to him. "There's no need for you to be so afraid of me Vincent...unless you have been doing something that you shouldn't have." He ran his hand smoothly over the boy's fuzz-covered head & breathed in deeply. "But...no. So now, why the trembling? Has your father been telling you frightful things about me?"

Crabbe began to slowly relax as the Dark Lord showed nothing but niceness towards him. He felt his hearbeat began to slow.

"No, my Lord. My father speaks naught but praises for you. I guess that it is just such a shock to see you in person." He had begun to mumble the last few words, because he was embarassed.

Crabbe looked up in surprise at this announcement.

"Really my Lord? Do you mean it? I get to train now..when I am this young?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Voldemort glanced between Draco & Vincent Jr. "Well now, you won 't be branded anytime soon if that is what you're thinking. We will simply be beginning your training is all. While it's true that you are young, so is Mr. Potter & I will need Death Eaters as trained in the Dark Arts as he is in Defense. Since Dumbledore has seen fit to begin training Potter & his friends, I see no reason why I shouldn't be training the next generation of my loyal Death Eaters," he said with a smile.
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Draco smiled at the Dark Lord's praising words for them. Loyal death eaters.. At the mention of Potter's name, he wanted nothing more than to be branded at that very instant. However, he knew that he must prove himself. That he was as worthy as his father and his grandfather to wear the brand. He was certainly up to the task.

He straightened his shoulders. "You know that you can count on me, My Lord."

Voldemort smiled at Draco. "Well now, that is good to hear. That one so young thinks that are ready for the Mark. That is my decision to make however & we will just have to wait & see what the future holds."
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Draco smiled and said no more. He knew that he was destined to be branded by the Dark Lord. It was in his blood after all..his grandfather was one of the best Death Eaters ever. And his father was a loyal follower as well.

He grew uncomfortable..as if someone were watching him. Looking up, he saw Crabbe's father look down as if his shoes were suddenly interesting. Draco scowled, but said nothing.

His mood was becoming even more sour. Watching as the Malfoy brat tried to shine himself up to the Dark Lord. How much like Lucius that kid is.. he thought as he glared at the boy. He did not realize that he was actually staring at the boy in a mean way. However, Draco, no doubt sensing eyes on him, looked up. Vincent quickly looked to his feet, hoping that the boy did not notice.

Sensing the tension in the room Voldemort rose. "Well, well. I think that you boys should probably run along so us adults can speak for a while." He turned to Pettigrew & called him over with a wave of his finger. The man came over stammering the entire time. Without saying a word Voldemort dug his long hand deep into the other mans pocket & withdrew a handful of coins.

Walking back to the boys he put 15 galleons into each of their hands. "There you are. I'm sure that the two of you can find something in town to amuse you for a while," he said with a smirk.
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Just as Draco was beginning to feel uncomfortable, the Dark Lord suddenly announced that the adults needed to speak to one another. Then, he was a bit surprised when Voldemort dropped coins into his and Crabbe's hands. He wasn't used to people giving him money (besides his father), so he stammered a bit in his gratitude.

"Thank..thank you My Lord." He nudged Crabbe next to him.

"Yes, thank you My Lord." Crabbe managed to utter.

Draco led Crabbe to the floo, where they were to go to Hogsmeade.

"Hog's Head." Draco said loud and clear.

Voldemort smiled & watched as the boy's left to spend their new money. Once they were gone he turned back to Vincent Sr. "Talk to me, Vincent. What has you in such a sour mood about Lucius? What do I need to know about him?" He sat back down in his chair & ordered another firewhiskey from the house elf.

~Vincent Sr.~

He nodded to the boys as they headed toward the floo. Once they were gone, he took a long drink of his wine. Just then he heard the Dark Lord's question about Lucius. He sighed.

"What hasn't he done, my Lord? I will admit that I was guilty of following Lucius's ridiculous cowardice but..." he stopped for a moment before continuing. He swished the liquid around the goblet as he spoke.

"First of all, he is a self-centered, arrogant brat..and he is teaching Draco to follow in his sorry footsteps. Also, Lucius claims to practice the "old ways". Well, I can assure you My Lord that Potter knows more dark magical defense and actions than Draco! All that Lucius concerns himself with is whether his actions will affect the Malfoy name..." Vincent stopped and finished drinking the goblet dry. He snapped his fingers, and a house elf was quickly at his side.

"Refill this." he ordered. He glanced up to the Dark Lord to gauge his reaction.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Mar 9, 2006, 1:49pm

Voldemort listened intently as Vincent spoke. When Vincent ordered the elf to refill his drink he figured that would be the best time to put in his thoughts. "So, are you telling me that Lucius feels that protecting his image within the Ministry is the most important thng for him & his family right now? And that his son is only being taught what Dumbledore decides is necessary for him to learn? Is that what you are telling me Vincent?" He took a long drink from his glass, all while watching the man & waiting for his responce.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Mar 9, 2006, 3:14pm

Vincent listened as the Dark Lord asked him further questions. Good, he isn't angry with me.. he thought to himself.

"My Lord, I will not pretend to know exactly what goes on in Lucius's egotistical mind. All I know is that Lucius seems to care more for what the Ministry thinks of the Malfoy name..than he does about teaching his son anything. In my honest opinion my Lord, I would not put it past Lucius to sacrifice his own son to save his own skin."

He drank deeply from his goblet before continuing.

"As far as what Dumbledore has his staff teach..I know from Vinny that it has been lacking. Obviously, there is no dark training at all..and the DADA job seems to be cursed. There is no structure at that school for dark wizards..I remember it was also so when I attended Hogwarts. I know that Lucius hates Dumbledore..so I know that he is no spy for that fool. However, the man is not ...to be trusted."

Vincent stopped with this last sentence..once again gauging the Dark Lord's reaction. He hoped that he had not gone too far. Lucius, after all, had been one of the Dark Lord's highest Lieutenants. He began to drink once again, waiting for whatever Voldemort would say next.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Mar 13, 2006, 5:12pm

Voldemort listened as Vincent contiued to speak, never once looking at the man. It was as though he organized the words within the contents of his mind as quickly as they were being vocalized. He smirked when Vincent mentioned the Defense Against the Dark Arts position being cursed. "Hmmm...Perhaps Dumbledore should have given me the position when I originally asked for it, eh?"

When Vincent continued on with the actions of Lucius Malfoy & the obvious thoughts that were brought about by such things Voldemort passively raised his hand in reassurance. "Now, now Vincent. If I am upset by anything that you say regarding Lucius, my anger is not directed towards you. Since I've returned I have found myself rather disappointed with many of my 'followers'. I was disappointed with you as well, but you have done well in assuring me that you have learned the error of your ways. Please give me no cause to think that you may have lingering loyalties towards Lucius Malfoy over your loyalties to me by curbing your tongue or lying to me now."

Vincent was pleased by his master's reply. he dropped to his knees in front of him.

"My Lord, I assure you that there are no lingering loyalties to Lucius Malfoy. I hardly consider myself a friend to him anymore. He used me to the point where I can never forgive him. My loyalties will remain to you..and only to you."

He stood. "To be blunt, my Lord..I think that Lucius Malfoy is not responsible! Especially not in the ways that Draco needs to be taught."
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Voldemort looked into the man's eyes as he went to his knees & re-avowed himself to his service. "I'm glad to hear it Vincent. Come now, sit properly & talk with me. I do have questions that you may be able to answer," he said as he took Vincent's hands & raised him from the floor.

"Namely, I need to know about the rest of the Death Eaters. Severus, the Lestrange's, Barty, Karkaroff Goyle, McNair & so forth. How & where are they?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Mar 14, 2006, 5:48pm

Vincent took a deep breath.

Well, I will tell you what I know my Lord. Severus Snape maintains his post as Potions Master at Hogwarts. If you ask me he is the only reliable teacher at that place. Bellatrix Lestrange, her husband and brother-in-law remain behind bars at Akkaban. However, if truth be told I do not know for how long.."

He smiled and continued.

"Macnair works as executioner for the Ministry..so perhaps he is spying within. Karkaroff seems terrified at the mere mention of your name. Barty Crouch Jr...is dead my Lord. He died in Azkaban after only a week or so. "
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Mar 15, 2006, 2:54pm

Voldemort repositioned himself in his seat as Vincent told him of the others. "Yes, I know that I can always count on Severus to remain faithful. We will have to see what can be done about the Lestrange's. I will find out what Macnair is doing personally. Igor Karkaroff...scared of my name you say? I wonder why that is? Hhmm....I'll have to look into that."

His brow set in an indistinguishable expression as he repeated the last part that had been relayed to him. "And Barty is dead. After only a week you say? How did he die?" He never looked up at Vincent while asking about Barty, so his mood was rather unreadable. That is until he simply tossed his goblet at one of the house elves as his way of requesting a refill. The small elf squeaked as he just barely caught the glass goblet that came flying towards him. Once he realized what was being asked of him he ran off without a sound & made sure to come back with the goblet refilled doubly fast.

Vincent watched his Lord's face closely, but there was no sign of emotion.

"Well, from what I gather, he just could not handle Azkaban. I find that somewhat hard to believe, but considering that he was very young at the time.." He frowned and looked down. truth be told, he had been very fond of Barty himself. The kid had dedication..and always wanting more training.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Mar 16, 2006, 12:54pm

Voldemort drank deeply from his newly refilled goblet before continuing. He spoke without looking up. "I don't think that I need to say how disappointed I am in hearing that. He was one of my best. Hopefully one of the children will grow to fill the hole that is left within the ranks with his absence."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Mar 16, 2006, 3:53pm

Vincent snapped his fingers, and handed a house elf his goblet.

"Refill."

He looked back to the Dark Lord. "I agree. Especially considering his age, he was very efficient." He sighed before continuing.

"We can only hope that the children make fine Death Eaters. I am sure my son will have no problem..I will began intense training with him soon."
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Voldemort looked up at Vincent quickly. "Well I certainly hope you will. I will be working with the kids as well. I would hate for Dumbledore to have a completely equipped new set of Aurors & I have no new recruits of my own." He turned his head to one of the house elves & regarded the creature apathetically. "Bring me a pumpkin pasty," he said coldly after a seemingly impossible amount of time.
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by brandybuck on Mar 27, 2006, 2:01am

Vincent listened to the Dark Lord, while nodding his head in assent.

"Agreed completely My Lord. The only reason that I have not started sooner with my son was due to the fact that he was not ready to train properly. However, now I feel that he has risen above the obstacles enough to begin."
Re: The Crabbe Estate
Post by admin on Mar 31, 2006, 12:04pm

Voldemort began to pick at the pasty brought to him by the timid house elf as Vincent spoke. "Yes, well I agree. It's high time these children learned some real magic."

His head turned quickly as he heard the sound of someone coming through the floo. Instantly Pettigrew had risen & stood in front of the Dark Lord as though he were still in a form that needed protection from the likes of him. Voldemort silently thrust him to the side so he could see the floo clearly, wand at hand.

Draco stepped out of the fireplace, and waited for the other two to arrive. Once they had, he straigtened his clothes. He glanced at the man with surprise..he seemed to suddenly look somewhat nervous.

"You should wait here while I inform him that you would like to see him." Without another word, Draco entered the next room to see the Dark Lord on high alert. "I am sorry to disturb you My Lord, but I have found one of your followers that wishes to get re-aquainted."

Noticing the disbelief on Voldemort's face, he quickly added. "I saw proof My Lord, so I know the man does not lie. I would not have brought him here before you if I were not certain that he was indeed a Death Eater."

Draco stood solemnly and waited for him to speak.

Voldemort relaxed when he saw that it was only Draco who had come through the floo. He was just about to say something to Peter when Draco made his announcement. He eyed him warily. "A Death Eater? You say that you saw the Dark Mark? Who is it?"

Draco shifted his feet in his nervousness.

"I am not sure my Lord. The man did not tell me his name. If I may be so bold, however, he looks younger than my father and most of the other Death Eaters that I know of."

He glanced nervously back towards the floo, hoping that the man would stay put for the time being.

Barty Crouch Jr

Barty had just come through the floo when he heard the voice of the Dark Lord telling someone who could only be the blonde-headed kid to come & get him. Not waiting for the kid, he slowly entered the doorway & looked around. He saw Peter Pettigrew there, of course, along with the blonde-headed kid & Vincent Crabbe. Vincent looked quite similar to how he had been when Barty had last seen him. Tall, average-sized & with dark hair. He tongue flicked from between his teeth a couple of times & then he finally spotted his master behind the blonde kid.

He immediately went over & dropped to his knees in front of the Dark Lord. "My Lord...I can't tell you how good it feels to be with you once more." He looked up & saw the confusion on Voldemort's face. Feeling somewhat awkward, he glanced over to Vincent & noted the disbelief in the mans face. He smirked slightly. "Oh I see...That's right, I'm supposed to be dead. Well, obviously I haven't died. Though I have been as good as dead for the past 13 years." He turned his attention back to the Dark Lord. "I can explain everything now or we can speak privately later on."

Draco nodded and was just about to go get the man, when the man himself walked in and dropped to his knees before the Dark Lord. Draco listened with confusion when the man said that he was supposed to be dead?? Who could this be? He was hoping that he wasn't dismissed before he could hear the whole story.

Vincent Sr.

Vincent had been listening to Draco ramble to the Dark Lord about how he locaed a Death Eater. He stood silently, swishing the wine in his glass. However, just then a tall, run-down looking man entered the room and dropped to his knees before Voldemort.

He almost dropped his glass in shock. Barty Crouch Jr.??? It couldn't be..he was dead. He had died in Azkaban. Too much in shock to speak, he waited for the Dark Lord to say something.
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort looked up at Vincent Sr suspiciously as he saw that it was Barty Crouch Jr that came & presented himself to him. "I thought that you said he was dead Vincent? You wouldn't be wanting to keep me away from one of my best followers now would you?"

Peter squirmed nervously in his seat. He knew well the tone of voice that his master was using & it always made him uncomfortable. It meant that the Dark Lord himself was uncomfortable about something & was not very happy about it. he looked over at Barty & eyed him curiously. It surely was Barty Jr, but how could he have gotten passed the guards of Azkaban?
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Barty Crouch Jr

Barty Jr watched the two as the Dark Lord questioned Vincent, clearly set on alert by his appearance. While it did please him to see one of Lucius Malfoy's cronies being made to squirm, he didn't want Lord Voldemort to remain in such a state for very long.

"My Lord...If he told you that I was dead it is because to the world I was. You see, my dear sweet mother simply couldn't bear the thought of her son spending the rest of his life locked in a prison. Since she was dying she asked my father to grant her this one last wish. So they came to see me & she & I both drank Polyjuice Potions of each other. I left under the guise of my mother & she died for me in my cell at Azkaban. Unfortunately my father decided that I still needed to be kept in a prison, so for the past 13 years he has kept me underneath an Invisibilty Cloak & under the effects of the Imperious Curse. The only being allowed to acknowledge me was my house elf Winky. It was she that finally won my freedom for me." He stopped to judge whether or not the Dark Lords' mood was beginning to shift upon hearing his explanation.

Thankfully his attention was now turned completely to Barty himself & he did appear more at ease. "So you see My Lord, Vincent thought that he was telling you the truth about my death. And in a way he was. For the past 13 years I have been in the world, but not truly a part of it...that's as close to death as I care to be without actually dying."

Vincent Sr.

Vincent began to visibly shake under the disapproving stare of the Dark Lord. He wanted to say that he actually didn't know about Barty being alive, but all he could manage was "..ah, I..I" Luckily, Barty Jr. himself spoke up quickly and told the story of how he escaped Azkaban. Vincent could not help it..he was impressed.

"So, Barty. You say your father kept you under an invisibility cloak by means of the Imperius Curse?" He glanced to the Dark Lord incrediously. "Thant makes him a Ministry-approved Death Eater. What a hypocrite!!" He felt the anger within himself. Barty Crouch Sr. was one of the few men that could make a Death Eater tremble years ago. And to hear that he was using the Imperius Curse on his own son??? Vincent and Barty Jr. were never close buddies, but he hated to think of how he had been treated for the past 13 years.

Draco

Draco stood in silent disbelief as he heard that the man he had brought to the Dark Lord was Barty Crouch Jr!! He had heard his father speak of him before, but always in the past tense. Well, father thought he was dead too..

Without realizing it, he had cleared his throat to get the nervous lump out of it. He looked up, hoping that no one would hear it. By the sound of the Dark Lord's mood, Draco did not want any attention suddenly turned on to him.

Barty Crouch Jr

Barty nodded in agreement with Vincent's comments about his father. "Quite the hypocrite, eh?! I'd be surprised if he has even noticed that I'm gone. It's not as though he has acknowledged in the past 13 years. He hasn't even looked at or spoken to me in all of this time...except to renew the Imperius curse that is. I'm sure that he'll be very surprised to see me walking about & coming at him with a wand at hand," he said with an extremely determined tone to his voice as his tongue flicked from between his lips a couple of times.

"What I did to the Longbottoms won't even compare to what I'm going to do with my father," he announced coldly while taking a seat next to the Dark Lord.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort listened quietly as Barty explained everything that had happened. His interest was particularly peaked when he spoke of his fathers use of the Unforgiveables. His eyes darkened slightly as he chuckled. "Is that so? Hhmmm...We shall have to see about that."

As the two men conversed Voldemort took in all that was said quietly, absorbing every word & filing it away in his mind. As Barty's anger & determination became apparent he raised his hand & hushed the younger man. "Now, now Barty. You will have your chance, but not until I okay it. I may have further use for your hypocritical father before I let you have your way with him. His position coupled with his apparently broken morals may be of some use to me." He ran his hand through the younger man's hair reassuringly.

Vincent smiled with evil satisfaction as he heard Barty Jr. mention the Longbottoms.

"Yeah, you all did quite a number on them. Very good work if I may say so, considering that Frank Longbottom was one of the best Aurors working for the Ministry."

He snapped his fingers, and the house elf reappeared. "Another for myself. Also get our guest here a firewhiskey." He nodded in Barty's direction.

Barty Crouch Jr

Barty simmered down almost immediately when the Dark Lord explained that he would have to wait for his revenge. "I understand, my Lord. Just be sure to let me know the very instant that I can touch him," he said with a slight hiss.

He looked up at Vincent & smiled. "Yeah those were the days, eh?" He suddenly realized that he was laughing & at ease with Vincent Crabbe! His eyes darkened a bit once more, but were quickly followed by a mischievious air. "So...how's old 'Lucy' doing nowadays? You still hanging on his every word, Vincent?" Barty simply couldn't help it. He had watched Lord Voldemort's followers actually following Lucius Malfoy far too many times. Having been out of contact with everyone for so long, he needed to know how things were between everyone now.

Draco stood in silent astonishment as he watched the exchange between the three men. They had indeed seemed to have forgotten about him standing here. Just then, he heard Crabbe's father begin to speak ill of his father. He glared at him, briefly wishing that looks really could kill. Who does he think he is..speaking of my father that way?? He shivered slightly when he realized exactly how angry he had suddenly become.

He straightened his tie, and fought to keep his composure.

Barty Crouch Jr

He sat & thought for a moment upon Vincent's question. "Well, I'm going to do whatever the Dark Lord asks of me. That's why I'm here. As for where I'm staying...I've found a safe place to stay for the time being." He looked up at the Dark Lord whom he had noticed was suddenly very quiet & still. He stared at how focused Lord Voldemort seemed & followed his gaze in confusion. He found himself looking right at young Draco. His tongue flicked from between his teeth as he realized that they had just spouted off about Lucius in front of his son.

Lord Voldemort

As the two men spoke openly about their disgust of Lucius Malfoy, apparently forgetting that the Malfoy heir was sanding behind them, Voldemort quietly began to register the boys' reaction. He could virtually feel the wash of hot anger as it came over Draco and was quickly followed by a kind of confusion. He observed how the boy tried to outwardly compose himself, as though he hadn't heard what was said. He knew that Draco would tell his father as soon as he returned to the Manor. He also knew that it would not be done out of loyalty as much as out of a yearning to appear to be on his father's side - for the chance of approval & appreciation from his father.

"Draco come to me," he said quietly as he motioned for one of the house elfs to bring another chair near him.

Draco

Draco was startled by the sound of Lord Voldemort's voice. He knew that he had jumped, and he felt himself redden because of it. Draco had still been staring at Vincent with loathing. At the Dark Lord's bidding, he walked over to the chair that the house elf had brought, and sat down. He made sure to sit perfectly poised like his father taught him.

Do not slouch Draco. his father had often told him. It always seemed to make a bad impression. Draco hoped that he was not in any trouble from the Dark Lord. Voldemort's moods had been flippant since he had fist met him earlier.

Vincent

Vincent nooded in understanding at Barty's words. "I see. I would offer you a place in my own house if you had no where else. I would not see another Death Eater stranded..especially in danger of the Aurors." He had no idea why he was being so nice to Barty Jr. Maybe it was because they were somewhat cordial to each other in the past.

Just then he saw Barty's attention turn elsewhere. He followed Barty's gaze from Voldemort to Draco. Then he heard the Dark Lord ask Draco to sit by him. Aww, it looks like I offened little Malfoy..pity. He tried to hide the smirk, knowing that Voldemort would not find it amusing.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort looked deep into Draco's eyes before speaking. "Draco I can understand your surprise at hearing your father being spoken of in such a manner. The truth is that he has done some things that have rubbed certain Death Eaters the wrong way...though I fully expect that they will let me deal with such instances & not forget what their first responsibilites are nor to whom." He spoke the last part while looking between both Vincent & Barty. the last thing that he needed was petty bickering between the Death Eaters.

"If your father was truly as useless as some seem to think that he is I would have dealt with him already. So it is really simply a matter of personal grievances. That being the case, I don't need such squabbles distracting my Death Eaters. They are to be cordial to one another, though they may say otherwise when not with one another. I'm sure that you have heard & seen your father do the same thing on more than one occassion himself." He smirked at the boy knowingly. Lucius Malfoy had a big mouth, especially at home in the Manor.

"With that in mind I expect that what you have seen & heard tonight shall stay between all of us. As I mentioned before, you seem to have great potential as a Death Eater. My view of you shall change swiftly should I find that you are one to spread dissent amongst the others simply to gain approval from a self-riteous father." He noted the expression on Draco's face when he suddenly spat out those last words. "Yes Draco, your father is self-riteous. You already knew that though. As a Death Eater your loyalty will lie to me above all others including your father, & if you are to be truly great, even...yourself if need be. Now your father is a good Death Eater...However he is not a great Death Eater. I fully know the limits to which Lucius Malfoy is willing to go for me even if he himself does not, & I keep that fact in mind at all times."

Draco

Draco listened with mixed emotions while the Dark Lord spoke to him of his father, and why the other Death Eaters who were supposed to be his friends, hated him so much. He hated to hear some of the things that Voldemort spoke of, but he knew that as much as the truth hurt, he was right. His father was self-righteous. His father did have a big mouth. However, he could not help but feel scorn at the fact that they talked about his father so ruthlessly. At least he was given an explanation from Voldemort. His mouth was dry as he responded.

"Of course I would be loyal to you above all..even my father. It seems that no matter how hard I try to impress him, I always fall short anyway. I want to prove to you that I am loyal..and I am worthy. " He lowered his voice so that the other two men couldn't hear him speak.

"I just do not like to hear them bash my father in such a way..no matter what his faults are. " A sudden fear gripped his chest when he realized that the Dark Lord could take that statement the wrong way. "..if I may be so bold."

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort sat back with a dark smile across his lips as Draco finished speaking to him. "Of course you do, Draco. I understand that type of hatred myself, the selfish type. Only you & a select few may speak ill of your father."

He looked to Vincent & Barty Jr sternly. "That being the case, I expect my Death Eaters to also mind their tongues around you when speaking of your father." He didn't wait for a reply as he knew that they had understood him.

"Now Draco, we must get to know one another better if you are going to surpass your father within the ranks," he said as he waved over one of the house elves to get Draco a drink.

Draco felt his body relax when he realized that the Dark Lord was not angry with him. In fact, he seemed to understand what Draco was saying. He could not contain the small smile that crossed his lips when he heard the others reprimanded.

"Now Draco, we must get to know one another better if you are going to surpass your father within the ranks,". Draco could not believe his ears. He was about to find out information about Voldemort that perhaps his father didn't even know. Draco felt an odd satisfaction well up inside him. Rather than wanting to impress his father, he suddenly found himself wanting to surpass him...like Voldemort wanted.

Taking the drink from the elf, he nodded to Voldemort. "Of course, my Lord. What would you like to know?"

Barty Crouch Jr

Barty shifted uncomfortably after the Dark Lords' scolding. "Of course, my Lord," he said quickly before gulping down some firewhiskey. He waited until he had turned his attention back towards Draco & then turned his face so that only Vincent Sr could see him. Rolling his eyes he stood & quickly drained the rest of his glass before announcing that he had to leave. "As I mentioned I have somewhere to stay & someone waiting for me. In fact they're probably wondering what has happened to me by now," he said while heading for the floo.

"Wouldn't want them calling in a Missing Wizard's Report now would I?" he called out before tossing the powder into the flames & disappearing.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort couldn't help but smirk at Draco as it became apparent that the boy had somehow assumed that the two of them were about to become instantaneous bosom-buddies. He was just about to speak when Barty rose & announced his departure. He knew that Lucius Malfoy was a very touchy subject for Barty, nearly as touchy as the topic of his father. Therefore he understood his eagernes to suddenly leave. He couldn't help but smirk at Barty's remark about the Missing Wizard's Report, but suddenly found himself insatiably curious. He made a mental note to ask Barty about it later.

Turning his attention back towards Draco, he smiled once more & chuckled softly. "What do I want to know? Well, I can know anything that I want very easily now can't I?" he asked while mischieviously tapping his finger to his temple. "Any matter, I simply would like to spend some time with you young Malfoy. Get a feel for you, you know? See what type of person you are. And see if you are a replica of your own father or not."

Vincent Sr.

"Yes my Lord.", he mumbled. Merlin forbid anyone speak the truth about Lucius Malfoy..Draco should know what kind of father he has. As he took another sip of his wine, he heard Barty Jr. mention a 'missing Wizard's report'. The statement was so funny that he almost spit his wine out of his mouth. Unfortunately, some of it backed up his nose, which made him momentarily cough. His eyes and throat burning painfully, he managed to utter a "goodbye" to Barty.

Luckily, Voldemort seemed enraptured in talking to the Malfoy kid, so he did not seemed to have noticed Vincent's accident.

Draco

Draco shifted uncomfortably when he saw the hastiness to which Barty Jr. was leaving. Afraid that he had already offended a Death Eater when the Dark Lord had just stated that he didn't want any strife, he forced a smile. It was a Malfoy smile..more sneer than an authentic smile.

"Goodbye Barty. It was indeed a pleaseure to make your acquaintance."

After Barty had disappeared up the floo, he saw that the Dark Lord was speaking to him again. He felt somewhat foolish when he realized that Voldemort was correct..he could have read anything he wanted. Draco felt his face flush momentarily, before responding.

"Of course, my Lord..I would be honored to spend time with you. " Draco knew that he should tell the truth before he made any further stupid blunders.

"My Lord, if I may be so bold I would like to get something off my chest. If I say something stupid, or if I am ignorant in my responses, could you please forgive me? My father has spoken of you, of course, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for you. However, I do not know the sort of things that..how do I say this properly..tick you off." He closed his eyes, hoping that the Dark Lord would not get angry at him.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort couldn't help but laugh as Draco tried to explain is predicament regarding his own moods. "Oh my dear young Draco!" he cried out & then hugged the boy's frame briefly. "I can only imagine the things that your father has said regarding my...moodswings." He looked over at Vincent senior & laughed once more.

"Let's just say that your father has an uncanny knack for irritating me. I must say that being so honest with me right from the start was a very good thing in my eyes. So...you needn't worry for now. I know that you're young & I do take such things into consideration when speaking with young people such as yourself. I can also guess as to just how much proper information you have been given regarding me & my followers. And for that reason I will be talking with you father about your impending training," he said while watching the boys face for his reaction before taking another drink from his glass of fire whiskey.
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Draco could not contain his surprise as the Dark Lord..THE Dark Lord leaned over and hugged him. I wonder if that was a mood swing?? he thought. Most of all, however, he was just thankful that Voldemort did not get angry..and that Draco had impressed him by telling the truth. Well, that is one thing that I know about him now.

As he listened to Voldemort discuss his father's ability to anger him, Draco barely contained the smile that tried to cross his face. For some reason, he was very much enjoying being told that his father was not the "best Death Eater" that he tried portraying to him. Draco found it very amusing indeed. Just then he heard the Dark Lord mention talking to his father about his training. For a moment, he felt a twinge of fear..What if my father says that I am not ready? What if he convinces the Dark Lord that I am still to immature to undertake the training?? However, as soon as these thoughts began to cross his mind, he pushed them away. Voldemort was the strongest Wizard in the world. If anyone could see through his father's whining, it was him.

He smiled up at Voldemort. "Thank you, my Lord. I hope that my father will allow me to start training immediately."

Voldemort watched as worries ran across Draco's mind. When the boy finally did relax a bit & speak up he couldn't help but pat his hand reassuringly. "Don't worry about what your father thinks. His opinion doesn't matter...only mine does. Especially in regards to your training as Death Eater. What do I have to fear from your father? I could take you with me right now & never return you to him. What is he going to do about it? Report me to the Ministry? I'd welcome the momentary diversion. If I decide that you are ready to start training immediately & he disagrees, he will do what he has to do...Smile, agree to my face, & then go home & whine about it to anyone who will listen."

Realizing that the Dark Lord had indeed read his thoughts, Draco smiled sheepishly.

Quote:
I could take you with me right now & never return you to him.
As soon as the Dark Lord had uttered these words, Draco felt a mixture of curiosity and fear. He wondered what it would be like to live with as well as be taught by the greatest Wizard in the world. However at the same time, he realized that he would miss his parents terribly, mo matter how much they angered him.

Quote:

Before he could stop himself, Draco laughed out loud at the visual. Indeed, the Dark Lord did seem to know his father very well..that is exactly what Lucius Malfoy would do. He straightened up further in his chair.

"You are right my Lord, of course. My father would do just that. I will be waiting eagerly for the day that my training begins."

Vincent Sr.

After Barty Jr. had departed, he found that there was nothing else to do but to listen to the conversation between Draco Malfoy and the Dark Lord. In hearing their discussion regarding Draco's training, Vincent supressed a snort. Lucius Malfoy had done very well..in fact..exceptionally well in the apprentice period before he was branded with the Dark Mark, and he still turned out to be a coward. Looking at the Dark Lord out of the corner of his eye, he couldn't help but think..The Dark Lord had made a mistake in choosing his "prized pupil" before. Clearly, even Voldemort made mistakes. He wiped the thought quickly from his mind, lest the Dark Lord decide to read his thoughts.

Deciding that he should not eavesdrop any further (not make it obvious, actually), he snapped his fingers to summon the House Elf. It appeared at his side instantly.

"I would like another glass of wine. " He glanced to the two still talking. "Excuse me, my Lord. Would yourself or Draco like a refill on your drinks?"

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort laughed openly with Draco regarding Lucius. "I am glad to see that you have been able to see your father through less than rose-colored lenses during your adolescence. It will serve you well to not delude yourself about those around you." Just then Vincent Sr asked if either of them wanted a refill of their drinks.

Looking at his half-full glass Voldemort nodded that he would. "In fact, if it's not too much trouble I would love to have a pumpkin pasty...it has been awhile," he stated with an oddly child-like grin. He then turned towards Draco & asked "Would you like anything Draco?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Draco could not help but be slightly appreciative when Crabbe's father briefly interrupted their conversation. It wasn't that he was not enjoying talking with the Dark Lord..he considered it a honor. It was just those eyes..the Dark Lord could stare through a void with his eyes. And his eyes never left Draco's face while he was speaking to him. Draco felt naked under the intense scrutiny of those eyes.

"Yes, a pumpkin pasty would be nice. Also, a firewhiskey."

Vincent Sr.

He almost snickered at the relieved look in Draco Malfoy's eyes. I know what you are feeling right now, kid. he thought to himself. The Dark Lord certainly made a strong impression. He turned to the house elf.

"What are you waiting for? You heard them..go and fetch it immediately." He waved his hand dismissively. Feeling a tap on his shoulder, he slightly jumped. He saw that his wife had slowly approached him, not making a sound. "What, Isabella?"

Isabella smiled at him. When she spoke she kept her voice in a whisper. She knew that the Dark Lord would have no problem overhearing..she just did not want the Malfoy boy to hear. "I hope that I have not disturbed you, but I thought that you should know that Lucius Malfoy's eagle owl just came into the bedroom window. I took the liberty of reading the letter, and it seems as though "you and him need to discuss certain matters." to quote him."

Vincent could tell that Isabella was enjoying this immensely. He looked to the Dark Lord. "My Lord, may I speak with you in private? Something important has just come to my attention."

He couldn't help but look over at the boy when he asked for a fire whiskey. After a second his somewhat-shocked face dissolved into a laughing smile. Suddenly he became aware that someone else had entered the room. He watched out of the corner of his eye as Isabella approached her husband. "So Lucius is upset," he thought to himself amusedly. He looked up at Vincent with a cordial expression "Of course, Vincent. Draco please excuse us for a moment."

"Certainly my Lord."

He frowned slightly in Crabbe's father's direction. He could have swore that he heard Crabbe's mother whisper his father's name. What could be going on? he thought worridly. By the sound of things, the Dark Lord was already not very happy with Lucius...

He sipped from his firewhiskey with shaking hands.

Vincent Sr.

Vincent excused himself from Draco's company as well..more of a formality than anything else. He was trying to restrain the smile that threatened to cross his face. He led the way to his library, and closed the door. He turned to his wife. "Let me see the letter, dear." After Isabella handed it to him, he read it aloud so that Voldemort could hear as well.

My old friend Vincent,

It has come to my attention that the Dark Lord has returned. Through means known only to me, I have heard tell that he is currently at your residence. I must admit that if this be true, I feel affronted that you have not contacted me regarding the matter. I would very much like to speak with the Dark Lord, particularily while it regards my son. Even if you and I have nothing further to discuss, notwithstanding a friendship that has spanned many years, at least give me the courtesy of an audience with the Dark Lord. I will be awaiting your reply.

Lucius Malfoy

Vincent looked to the Dark Lord, the smile now stretching widely across his face. "Let the butt kissing commence, eh? So, what do you think of this letter, my Lord? Should I respond in kind?"
Re: The Crabbe Estate

Lord Voldemort

As Vincent read the letter to him he found himself angry, rather than amused. Clearly it was amusing to Vincent & Isabella, but the Dark Lord did not care for the arrogance behind the words. His eyes had darkened considerably while listening & he felt his mood deepen in kind.

"No Vincent, I would like to reply to him," he stated unhesitatingly to the question that had been asked. "Of course, I will need to use your owl & seal lest the Ministry become curious of the parcel." He walked over to the bureau & retrieved a piece of parchment & quill. Using his wand to Accio the letter from Vincent & read over it once more before writing...

Lucius,

I should make known from the start that this letter is not being sent by Vincent Crabbe, but from the one that you wish to have an audience with. You should know that your letter has...let's say, stroked my curiosity immensely. You mentioned that 'through means known only to yourself' you have discovered my whereabouts. Well I would be extremely interested in exactly what those means are myself. That way, I'll know who to deal with. As for your feelings regarding Vincent's failure to alert you to my presence...There were other things that were more important for him to do besides filling you in on matters that are happening within his own home. And about the audience that you have so graciously asked for...I will speak with you when I am ready to do so. I am currently still getting to know your son, Draco. Though I shall be retiring shortly. I am not quite up to par yet, so rest is a neccessity at this point in time. That being said, I'm sure that you won't miss Draco at the Manor for the rest of this evening. I am enjoying his company greatly, so I'm sure that you can understand my wish to keep him with me overnight. If you wish to see me soon I suppose that you could come over tomorrow & visit.

~ An Old Friend

He read the letter aloud so both Isabella & Vincent could hear. "So, does that sound all right to the two of you? This is your home after all."

Vincent Sr.

Even though he could see that Lucius's letter had greatly irritated the Dark Lord, he still found himself biting the inside of his cheeks to keep from laughing. He feared that if he did that, Voldemort may get really angry. As he watched him writing the return letter himself, he could not remember feeling so gleeful...or so much in control. Suddenly, it was becoming ever more clearer to him that he had come far from being Lucius Malfoy's lackey. Indeed, if he played his cards right, he was sure that he could even impress the Dark Lord even more than Lucius had in the past. He may be placed with the amount of responsibilities that Lucius once possessed. Malfoy didn't even realize that he was digging himself deeper with the Dark Lord with his arrogance. The situation could not be more perfect. His wife seemed to think the same thing. While never being branded with the Mark herself, she was a very devout follower of Voldemort's, and greatly showed her anger to him when he had followed Malfoy into hiding like a puppy. She had berated him when he had cried "imperius curse" at the Ministry's inquest thirteen years ago. But she stood by him, and Vincent knew that he could probably not go on without her.

Shaking the thoughts from his head, he heard the Dark Lord asking him if the letter sounded allright. This was almost too much. Somehow, he contained the glee in his voice.

"Yes my Lord. I think that it is perfect."

Draco

Sitting alone in the room with only his firewhiskey for company (Crabbe jr. had gone to bed a while ago), Draco found himself getting really sleepy. It couldn't be the firewhiskey.. he thought as he looked at the glass. He heard the sound of a quill scratching angrily on parchment in the other room. No doubt that his father had written a letter, and someone didn't like it too much. Draco sighed and laid his head back against the seat. I hope no one takes it out on me.. he thought.

Within moments, Draco had fallen asleep. The half full glass of firewhiskey that he was holding slipped out of his hand, and dumped on the carpet.

Lord Voldemort

"Good," he said shortly to Vincent before placing the letter in an envelope & securing it with the Crabbe family seal. He briskly walked over to the family's owl, though once he was there he made sure to pick the animal up gently. As he softly petted the animal's head he cooed into it's ear before placing the envelope in its' beak & sending it off. He watched out the window for a moment until he could no longer make out the bird against the horizon.

"He should receive that shortly." He spun around once more & headed back into the living room. As he was opening his mouth to speak to Draco he noticed what had happened. With a wave of his wand the spilt firewhiskey vanished from the floor. He bent over & picked up the glass from the floor. He went back to where Vincent & Isabella were & placed the glass on a table. "He's fallen asleep. Perhaps one of the house elfs can take him to his room."

He half-paced across the floor for a couple of moments & suddenly caught the sight of Peter Pettigrew sulking into the room while watching the Dark Lord cautiously. Suddenly finding himself irritated once more, Voldemort turned to Vincent. "As I stated in the letter I am tired. I will retire to my room now. Send word when you hear from Lucius again." He started towards the stairwell & felt the familiar presence of Pettigrew practically sewn to the back of his robes. He swung around quickly & shoved a long, pointy finger into Pettigrew's face nearly touching his nose. "You stay down here. You are the 'word' that Vincent's shall be sending up once Lucius figures out how to reply."

Without saying another word he vanished up the stairs & into the shadows of the upper rooms. One would have thought that he had vanished into the very walls themself until the barely audible sound of his door latch clicked closed.

Vincent Sr.

Following the Dark Lord out of the room, he noticed that Draco had fallen asleep. As he drew his wand to clean the mess made by the firewhiskey, he was surprised to see that Voldemort himself cleaned it up. Vincent called for a House Elf. When it appeared, he stated simply: "Take young Master Malfoy to the largest guest bedroom. " The elf kept its eyes on the floor the entire time that it was getting directions. "Yes, sir." He watched as the elf magically levitated Draco, and then followed the floating form up the stairs.

It was then that he noticed Pettigrew hovering around the Dark Lord again. He felt a sudden urge to trip him, but then thought better of it given Voldemort's mood. "I doubt that Lucius will send word before tomorrow morning my Lord. Besides the fact that he will be insulted by the letter, he will be fearful as well. I will see to it that your sleep is undisturbed." As he stated this last sentence, he put emphasis on the word "undisturbed" while eyeing Pettigrew.

"Rest well, my Lord."

After Voldemort had disappeared up the stairs, Vincent turned to his wife. He now released the yawn that he had been containing. "Well dear, shall we call it a night as well?" She glanced at him with a playful expression which he understood immediately. He blew out the last candles before following her to the master bedroom.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort lied in the silky darkness of the king-sized bed in his room unable to sleep, though very tired. His mind simply did not seem willing to slow down for him now that he was whole again. There was simply too much that he wanted to get started on, too much he wanted to check for himself, too many questions that were burning in his mind.

He exhaled sharply & flung himself over onto his other side. He needed to sleep. His physical body needed to rest whether his mind was ready too or not. He closed his eyes & cleared his mind. For a couple of minutes the room was silent & if one were to come in they would have probably thought that he had at long last fallen asleep. Then suddenly, obviously irritated, he flicked his wand towards an ornately carved radio across the room. The suite was suddenly filled by the soft, soothing sound of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". Though Beethoven was a muggle artist, Voldemort found his works deeply moving & heartfelt.

As he focused his minds on the notes that now surrounded him his mind finally began to relax & flow with the music until slowly, almost imperceptively, he ceased to her the low piano chords.

Draco

When he next woke, Draco's heart was pouding. The room that he was in was still dark, but he recognized it nonetheless. This was the room that he usually stayed in when he visited here. Trying to shake the visions of the nightmare from his mind, he strained his eyes to find familiar surrounding. He recognized the canopy above the bed. He saw the full-length mirror on the opposite side of the room. Looking in this mirror, he could see the fear in his own eyes, though the mirror was quite far away.

As he swung his legs over the side of the bed, he realized that they were shaking. He knew better than to try to stand right now..he was too weak from the nightmare. It was so real.. he kept thinking over and over. As he lay back on the bed, he looked towards the window, praying that the sun would soon rise. Then he would feel better...then he could sleep.

Maybe once the light filtered through the windows, he would forget the dream. He would forget..that Voldemort had murdered his father.

Lord Voldemort

The frilly sounds of Stern were softly swirling around the room when he woke suddenly from sleep. His head felt tight from strain, though the feeling wasn't orginating from within his own mind. It was somewhere else. Someone else. He stayed still for a moment & allowed himself to fall into the sensation in order to understand it better. His mind whirled slightly, even though his eyes were once again closed. Slowly a seeming fog started to thin from his mind's eye & he was surprised to see himself standing over a dull-eyed Lucius Malfoy. He was suddenly overcome by a wave of nausea.

Shaking the image from his mind, Voldemort arose from the bed & returned his consciousness back to his own awakened mind. He ran his hands over the coolness of his bare skull. So, Draco had been able to hear them in the next room. He had understood how irritated the Dark Lord had been by his father, Lucius, & his recent actions. He looked out the window over the darkened gardens below. Fear was a good thing, it brought awareness & understanding. Though it could also be a hinderance, as it could cloud Draco's own actions & words towards him. That he did not want. That was what had gotten Lucius into the current state that he was in himself. He sighed & exited the room unable to sleep anymore.

Vincent Sr.

After enjoying a pleasant night with Isabella, Vincent awoke around five a.m. and realized that he was no longer tired. Beside him, his wife snored softly. He got up from the bed slowly, so as not to wake her. He pulled his robe off of the back of the door, and exited the room. Already thinking of his morning coffee, he began to walk toward the staircase to head down to his den. Just as he was about to round the corner, he almost walked directly into Voldemort. He was able to contain a scream, but a loud, scared sigh escaped from his mouth. He quickly recovered his nerves.

"Excuse me, my Lord. I did not know that anyone else would be awake at this hour. I was just on my way down to the den to have a cup of coffee. Would you care to join me?"

Lord Voldemort

He lingered for some time in the hallways of the expansive house gazing at the family photos that hung on the walls snoring slightly & the various objects that the Crabbe family had collected over the centuries. He stopped & admired the picture of a young woman with long, tossled dark hair as she slept slightly slumped over in an ornate chair. She truly was a lovely vision with a slender, graceful neckline that sloped gently to the right. The sudden almost imperceptible sound of footfalls broke his reverie & he honed his mind onto the person. Only Vincent Sr.

He smirked with amusement as Vincent nearly walked into him with a start. "Good morning, Vincent. I was simply admiring your ancestors is all," he said with a nod towards the sleeping beauty. "Coffee sounds fine." He started to follow Vincent down to the den & suddenly became aware that he was rather hungry even after all of the eating that he had done the night before. "I'm rather starved as well. Perhaps the house elfs can be roused."

Vincent laughed as Voldemort seemed enraptured with his great-aunt Lizzie. "Yes, that was my great-aunt Lizzie Crabbe..one of our most famous ancestors, actually. She was known for casting love spells on unsuspecting mortals. When they came to, and realized what had happened, they tried to flee. However, this was the sport for my dear aunt. She simply killed them before they could escape." He shook his head. "Terrible what happened to her after the Aurors found out." He eyed the Dark Lord, trying to contain his smile. "It was said that she needed to use no magic to perform her art of seduction."

As they started down the stairs, he heard the Dark Lord mention that he was hungry. "Oh, the house elves would already be awake, my Lord. Isabelle prefers them to start at 4 am. That way, if she wants visitors by late morning, than the manor is presentible. I will summon one immediately."

Lord Voldemort

He listened as Vincent described Lizzie's favorite past-time. He couldn't help his eyes darkening a bit when he mentioned the casting of love spells on muggles. His thoughts strayed to his own parents momentarily...to his arrogant father sitting in his dining room, denying Voldemort's own parentage. He blinked sharply & cleared his throat to bring his mind back to what Vincent was saying. "She killed them afterwards you say...Did she have relations with them beforehand?"

His mind whirled back to the large Riddle House dining room once more with the arrogant muggles sneering at him in disdain. He felt an inner itching working it's way up his spine & took ahold of the stair rail to steady himself.

Vincent sr.

He stared at the Dark Lord for a moment. When he had been describing his great aunt Lizzie, he had seen Voldemort's eyes darken. Vincent was puzzled by this, but knew to say nothing. He laughed out loud when he heard Voldemort's question. "Some of them, I am sure. However, I heard she used them for different purposes."

As he saw Voldemort steady himself on the stair rail, he reached for his arm without thinking about it. "My lord, are you allright?"

He heard a shuffling up above them, and guessed that Draco was now awake.

Draco

Draco thrashed around in the bed in frustration. He simply could not get back to sleep, no matter how much he willed it. His eyes were tired, he just could no longer get comfortable. He could not escape the images from his dream. Finally, he knew that he had to just get up. he swung his legs over the bed, and slipped his feet into the awaiting slippers. They were just like his father's slippers..the interior was entirely of rabbit fur, and was extremely warm and soothing to the feet.

As he approached the door leading to the hallway, he heard voices below on the staircase. He guessed the first to be Crabbe's father. When he heard the second voice, his blood ran cold. It was Voldemort's. Draco knew that he had to shake the visions of his father getting murdered from his head, or he would not be able to face the Dark Lord all day. Then, the Dark Lord would no doubt become offended.

He straightened his robe, and opened the door. I might as well go down and have a cup of coffee. he thought.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort stood there on the stairs for a moment. His consciousness shifting between his father's dining room & the hand of Vincent upon his arm. "Yes...just give me a moment, please," was all that he could will himself to say. He heard the subtly demeaning words of his father, the snide chuckling of his grandparents. He turned to the right & saw someone coming towards him as though to escort him out of the house. The sensation started behind his eyes & crept down through his neck into his shoulders until finally his very fingers were tingling with the irate energy. He tightened his fingers around the shaft of his wand which was hidden within his coat pocket. Once more he tried to speak with them courteously, but they simply continued to look down upon him as though he were an insolent pup disturbing a meal that was to be thrown outside. The man took another step towards him & he suddenly pulled the wand out & pointed it at him. His father rose from the table, distant recognition pouring from his face. His eyes hardened upon the wand, then followed its' length up the arm & into the face of the young man holding it so defiantly. "You?! Your mother....that deceitful, devil-loving, gutteral piece of..."

The room flashed green with the only sound being the end of the deadly incantation streaming forth from Voldemort's now wide open mouth in a rage-filled yell. Slowly the image of his father's family faded from his mind's eye & he was once again able to focus on what was occuring around him. There was sweat now coming from his brow & his breathing had quickened. He cleared his throat & straightened his shoulders to show Vincent that he could, indeed, carry himself once more.

"Excuse me Vincent. I seem to still be a bit tired from all that has happened recently. I'm fine now. Let's go have that coffee shall we?" He paused for a moment & turned his head upwards to the above staircases. "I do hope that you'll be joining us Draco." He then smiled at Vincent & continued down the stairs to be shown the direction to take.

Draco

He froze as he saw the scene before him. Crabbe's father was standing on the staircase, holding onto the Dark Lord's arm. The look of concern on the elder Crabbe's face is not what held Draco's attention, however. It was the look on Voldemort's face. He looked irate while at the same time looking very drained. Draco stood very still, so as not to disturb the two of them. Finally, he heard Voldemort tell Crabbe's dad to continue down the stairs. He gave an involuntary jump as he heard the Dark Lord address him. Truly, the man misses nothing..

As he followed the two men down the stairs, he found himself staring at the departing figure of Voldemort with a mixture of fear and awe.

Vincent Sr.

Vincent kept his hand on Voldemort to steady him. Indeed, if he let go of him, he may have tumbled down the stairs. That would have been most unfortunate. Just then out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone approach the upper landing. He contained a sigh when he realized that it was Draco Malfoy. That's all I need...Malfoy Jr. asking questions. However, after a few moments, he had to admit that he was impressed. The boy had not taken one step forward; it was as if he knew the importance of the situation, and not to interfere. Vincent didn't understand it himself. It was clear that the Dark Lord was having some sort of rememberance...but as to what it was, Vincent hadn't the slightest clue.

When it was clear that Voldemort was ready to continue, he finished leading his guests into the den. He snapped his fingers, and one of the house elves appeared at his right side.

"Three coffees." He glanced at Voldemort's still-pale expression. "As a matter of fact, bring the urn also." He had a feeling that the Dark Lord would require more than one cup this morning.

When the elf returned, he waved his wand to stir in the creamer and sugar for Voldemort's coffee. "Here you are my Lord." He handed Draco his cup, not knowing how the boy took his. He left his black, for that was how he preferred it.

Lord Voldemort

He followed Vincent into the den & sat himself into a cushy chair appreciatively. His head still felt a bit foggy although his mind ceased to wander between rememberance & consciousness. He took the coffee with a small smile & inhaled the deep earthiness of it's scent. Closing his eyes he slowly swallowed a hot gulp of the brew making himself aware of the warmth as it travelled down his throat & esophagus into his stomach. He sat there for a moment or two allowing the hot drink to warm his very core.

After sometime he opened his eyes & looked over toward Draco who was seated across from him. He smiled slightly. "Good morning Draco. How was your night?"

Draco

As he swallowed the warm brew, Draco found himself trying to will the horrid nightmare from his mind. It was finally starting to work. There was just something about that morning cup of coffee that really screamed at you to wake up, and forget whatever had happened the night before. As he was mulling this over, he barely realized that he was staring at the Dark Lord. He looks like he had a rough night as well...

Just then the Dark Lord opened his eyes and addressed him. Draco finished swallowing the mouthful of coffee before replying.

"Not so well, my Lord. My bedchamber was very accomodating..but..I just could not seem to sleep well at all." He saw a look in Voldemort's eyes that he could not quite place. It was not a malicious look, but it seemed to carry a mystery within it. Knowing that the Dark Lord could read minds, Draco decided to turn his attention back to his coffee.

Lord Voldemort

Voldemort hardly suppressed a smirk as Draco averted his eyes, clearly having knowledge of his skills with Legilimency. "Yes, I know Draco. That was a terrible dream that you had. And is hopefully one that shall never need come to pass. However, you shouldn't worry yourself so. Your mind was so convinced by that dream, that my own simply couldn't resist coming in to see what all of the fuss was about." He finished draining his coffee cup & levitated the urn over for more. After stirring in his cream & sugar he offered more coffee to the both of them.
